Hi there,
my Homey Bridge used in a Holiday cabin is connected to Internet via a mobil network router with limited data volume contract per month. Homey controls 4 thermostats for electrical floor heating and there is also a temperatur sensor and an electrical power meter connected.
How can I minimize the data traffic created by Homey Bridge? Are there any type of flows I should avoid because they are creating more data traffic ?
Any ideas welcome!
Ed
It sounds like Homey Cloud/Bridge is not a great choice anyway if you only have limited data, since all device data needs to be uploaded to the cloud to be handled there, and nothing is handled locally.
Also, consider what may happen if you turn up the the heating from a flow and then the data volume runs out or the mobile connection gets lost.

Hi Robert,
thanks for your advice. So is Homey Pro a better choice or is it also polling permanently data although the homey app isn’t active?
Regards, Ed
It depends entirely on the protocol that’s used to connect with all your devices. Homey Pro can do much more locally (although it does require an internet connection occassionally), but if your devices are only accessible through cloud servers you will still need a working connection all the time.
