I haven’t had the issue with the Homey app grouping and devices not responding. I use it daily with automations at sundown, and later after dinner (changing temperature), and with multiple lights on the exterior of my house and inside my kitchen and family room cabinets where the lights just all sync and work. I think that may be an interference thing for some.
As for the binding, that’s a great feature and should be an implemented feature in Homey Pro’s Zigbee controller/assigner and yes Zigbee grouping is faster and more efficient, also should be on Homey Pro’s controller/assigner so an application isn’t required.
I still don’t know that those are worth having an extra hub inbetween though.
People can do whatever they want. That’s the world, just hoping some don’t go to lengths thinking they need it when they barely even use the features available to them in the first place.
Well, just skip all other hubs and then see if you will be satisfied. I started to introduce many hubs again, and I am more satisfied as without, but not perfect yet…
Yes, and no
It might come in handy as “emergency” lights controller, in case Homey is not in the mood to control anything. It always happens exactly at the wrong moment🤔
The hub creates it’s own zigbee mesh (zigbee devices can only be part of one zigbee controller);
when you have enough zigbee routers (almost any mains powered zigbee device) to spread twice across your home, you can use 2 separate zigbee networks.
This wayou can still operate at least some lights/plugs per Ikea phone app.
