ah ok! Thanks for the reply. I’ll get a Dirigera hub then and start migrating devices.
//Update: Bought the Dirigera hub today and everything is working. Best thing (IMHO) is that when you add a device to the Dirigera, you will find it immediately in Homey and ready for use.
Now if they only give status updates about battery condition to Homey, it would be fantastic ![]()
Since you installed the Dirigera hub, have the battery levels been reporting properly to Homey? It’s quite expensive to buy this hub just to get the battery status updates.
No, it doesn’t report battery status (yet?) to Homey. so to buy Dirigera for that would be pretty useless
Hello,
I have the exact same issue, has anyone been able to solve it!
How did you get new devices added to Dirigera to appear automatically in Homey? I have added more lightbulbs to Dirigera, but they are not showing up in Homey
Did anyone try to add devices via Ikea Dirigera Matter bridge last days ?
As actually - I reset my Dirigera - added there one bulb - and I tried to share it to Homey Pro 2023 via Matter bridge.
Adding process seems OK – But always directly after device (bulb) is added to Homey, it shows error – see added pictures.
Am I doing something wrong ? I tried to restart both devices (dirigera and homey pro) but same result.
I have just added my Tradfri lights back to the Dirigera and connected all through Matter, without any problems.
I do have problems with Philips Hue and Aqara over Matter.
I have no idea why I succeed with Dirigera and you do not. I do have exact the same message with Aqara over Matter to HP23
Hi all, I connected like 35 lights & 4 Motion sensors via matter with my Homey pro it all worked perfectly. But all of a sudden im not able to control anything from IKEA via the Homey app. Im still able to control the divices via the IKEA app directly. I had the same with some hue lights but these are back working after restarting the Homey pro.
Btw, When I go to the IKEA app and ask for a matter code its not giving anything. My sugestion was that a qr code would become visible.
Anyone had or has the same problem?
Thanks!!
Retry to hard restart your Dirigera. Power off and power on again. Check after 2 or 3 minutes.
@sschot thanks for your reply! The day after I posted this question it was back working again!
When it happens again I will try your option!
Had same issue after Homey update to days ago (beta). Restartet both Homey and Dirigera hub. All ok after restart.
I don’t understand this thread, nor any of the people trying to connect this Dirigera bridge to their Homey. Can someone please clarify a few things for me:
- Isn’t the Dirigera hub just a Zigbee hub with Matter support for Ikea Zigbee devices?
- Isn’t Homey Pro 2023 also a Zigbee hub with Matter support, and Ikea Zigbee devices can connect to it?
- Why not ditch the Dirigera hub altogether and simply connect the Ikea Zigbee devices to it directly?
- yes.
- yes
- Updates
Updates? Updates - what?
Firmware. Also, for some people, Homey’s Zigbee is suboptimal in range, stability and features.
I’m sorry I still don’t understand the firmware updates being a problem with Zigbee. I have quite an extensive Zigbee network across distances and the beauty of it all is that it meshes quite well.
I don’t foresee why people would need yet another Zigbee hub in addition to the one in my Homey Pro 2023 - even if the limit of devices caps out .. I still have over a hundred devices connected.
For example, the IKEA INSPELNING devices were sold with a firmware that had issues with energy monitoring. With the Dirigera, you could update the firmware to fix it, which isn’t possible with Homey. Also, Homey doesn’t support Zigbee grouping and binding, so when Homey is offline you can’t control your lights anymore.
If you don’t need these features, and everything works fine for you, that’s great, but it doesn’t for many others.
There’s an application for grouping with Homey as well. I have ZigBee grouping with a number of Zigbee lights and outlets, they all work as one, sync as one, hue, dimming etc.
As for the firmware, I guess needing the IKEA hub for updating that is needed. But once updated and stable, unpair Dirigera from the updated device and pair with Homey directly and remove Dirigera from the mix. When Homey is offline is the same as when Dirigera is offline, so that point is moot.
I’m just trying to champion the streamlining and redundant layering of hubs here.
Zigbee grouping is much more efficient. Also, for many people, Homey’s grouping doesn’t work well, often random devices in a group don’t respond to commands.
Zigbee binding creates direct connections between devices, without the need for a coordinator in between.
