Ikea Dirigera & Homey Mini

Question, I had a Homey Pro for a week and send it back, too complicated and the lack of direct ethernet is ridiculous for a ‘pro’ device (it kept being offline regulary too despite being near the new wifi unit). But also, while Meross integration was easy, all my devices came automatically in the Homey, Ikea Dirigera seemed impossible, it came down to it asking to pair each individual light, switch etc.. No way, too much work, it is 2025, that should be an easy task. Have I been doing something wrong? But, the new Homey Mini, is that maybe the way forward, can somebody convince me that this works better, that Ikea (a main player on specially the lighting sector) now is automatically integrated (I would like to eventually stop the Ikea hub)?

Homey Pro and Homey Mini run the exact same software.

Thanks, but how about Ikea Dirigera, is there now an easy method to get all devices in Homey in one go?

Possibly using Matter.

When they come in from Dirigera they come in with the device type, I.e the bulb type. It’s better to add them one by one so you can rename them. I spent an hour running around the house trying to figure out which device in homey was which bulb.

Note I was adding a new dirigera hub. If you already have one you might have to chase bulbs anyway.

What download did you use to get them all in? Not difficult to findouttwhatis what but to have to pair the lot again is not what I am after, should be more simpel. Just trying to figure out if I should give Homey an other try.

I connected the hub with Matter, so no app.

I went this route because I had some irritating instability with my ikea blinds and switches. (Lights were ok).

I don’t remember the process of adding them into Homey, but I think they all came in at once for one of my hubs. I had two hubs, one I did device by device and was left with the opinion one by one was easier. It would be better they came in like hue with the hue names, but maybe in the future.

Homey is (still) not capable of mass adding devices like zigbee2mqtt for example, I fully agree this is not the best part (next to the wifi part).
On the other hand, how many times do you have to add all devices to your smart home controller…

You’d know putting a device too close to a wifi unit is counterproductive.
