My setup: Aqara U200, a Homey Pro, and Apple TV and many devices…
Everything in my home is setup via Homey Pro and then i pass the device to Homekit via Homekitty.
I have a brand new U200 that I installed. I can unlock and lock via the app, I dont have the aqara hub.
I am unable to add it to Homey Pro, only to HomeKit. On Homey pro I have an error message saying that the device is unable to be added.
Is there a way to have the lock on Homekit to benefit the Homekey feature and pass basic lock/unlock to Homey Pro ?
Edit: I tried to put the Aqara U200 in pairing mode on Home app, it gave me a new matter code, but when I try to add it to Homey Pro, I have the same error message. The adding screen is showing the bluetooth icon during this pairing process, dont know if its normal or not. If I select add it via iOS, I can pair the device but at the end it does not ask me where the device is located and it finish without error, but the U200 is not present on Homey.
At the end very disapointed that this lock is not recognised by Homey as it is in the Buying Guide.
First add the lock in Aqara (phone app?)
Then in the app go to Aqara -Domain -Bind then press set button lock briefly.
Select ‘operated’, then the app will open the bluetooth.
Then to the Homey app and add device - use Matter of course, scan the code on the lock, and see it getting added.
Hello @Peter_Kawa
Thank you for your reply. Actually I google translated all topic speaking about the u200 to find a solution, and already tried this without luck: I reseted the lock, paired it with Aqara, and then went back to the setup screen on aqara app to activate the Bluetooth, but same error of connection. I also tried to wake up the lock with modifying stuff in the aqara app etc.
In the homey documentation (and also HA) they say that we need a new matter code: on iOS home app I can ask the device to go in pairing mode, and it generate a new matter code, but homey say it can’t connect. I think it’s an issue on homey side? I will open a ticket in the meantime.
I will try to deploy a HA instance and see if I can pair it with the new matter code to validate or not the issue on Homey side.
Is there any debug that can be done on homey to see what is blocking the communication? Like the dev page our something ? I switched to home last week so I’m fairly new.
I went to the homey path to not have to deal with issues and maintenance, looks like it’s not really what the advertise…
Edit: As I said, If there is a way to just pass the controls “Lock” and “Unlock” from HomeKit to Homey I would be happy, if someone has a solution that could work I would be pleased !
Thanks
I’m sure the issue is with Homey’s Matter atm, but no clue if it’s a general issue.
During pairing you’d put your phone, Homey and the lock pretty close to eachother.
But I’m “afraid” the lock works right away with HA.
You can down a VMware or VirtualBox image to do tests with HA. I can recommend a Sonoff ZBDongle-E zigbee dongle (how to enable Thread+Matter: link) and HA ZBT-1 dongle to use as Thread dongles
Not to my knowledge. But it’s possible to generate a system diagnostic report, which gets sent to Support.
You’d send the generated report ID to support.
Unfortunately these reports aren’t user accessible.
I added my U200 yesterday , after doing the firmware update it worked without any problems.
It connect with thread to the lock. Just hold the set button for 2 seconds and start the pairing process in the homey app and it connected. Before the firmware update I couldn’t connect the lock.
Out of the box the u200 has a beta firmware but still, even after update I was unable to add it. I added it instantly in home assistant, I am considering sending back my homey as I had few incompatibilities… (solar panels, Meross, u200…)
open honey app / add device via matter and choose via iOS , click more choices at the pop up window and click the aqara u200 device there and paste the code.
remove the battery for 1-2 seconds and put it back and wait.
Hey, I don’t have an aqara hub, would you recommend getting one for the firmware update on the U200? And what can I do through homey without the hub? Only lock/unlock? Or do I get acess to some of the functions like temporary passwords and scheduled passwords?
