HomeyLink showing "missing_scopes"

What can I do about HomeyLink showing “missing_scopes”, when I try to add a flowcard for HomeyLink, not possible to save or run the two cards of HomeyLink.

Info like: From where to where and the accounts used would be usefull to try to reproduce.

Sorry, I don’t know what the ˵shouting˶ caused, this happened without intention, what can I do to avoid this?

Just install the HomeyLink App, then connect a Homey, then try to run the FlowCards ˵Restart˶ and/or “Start Flow … on …”
In the link ˵ [Tip] Problems with Homey?˶ I could not find anything about HomeyLink

The HomeyLink goes from Homey Pro 2023 to Homey Pro 2019 …
So, the HomeyLink App is installed on the P23 and triggers devices on the P19 as expected.

Account: Owner

Remove the # before the first line

That is only handy in case of Headers and used intentionally:
Back On-Topic,

Reproducing the Case:

I just tested it from my

  • 1 0 Homey Pro (Early 2023) (G D) / FW 12.3.2-rc.3
  • With Homey Link v1.1.0
    to my
  • 2 My Homey Pro (2019) (G D) / FW 12.3.1-rc.1

Both are on the same LAN / IP Segment here.

and that worked,

While I am not the Owner of #1 but am the Owner of #2

and this Flow starting also worked here:

Off-Topic again:

Correct, but I still don’t know FW versions, App Version, Same LAN or not, etc.

The article is about giving what you know and what you have tried in asking a question.

Now you know I tried and it works here for me at this moment…
(and what my conditions where.)

Thank you for your help.

Homey Pro 2023
Version12.3.2

HomeyLink v1.1.0

All devices are on the same LAN and WiFi network
What I could do and did was cold restarti of the Homeys. (P19, P23)
Restart of the HomeyLink App and a cold restart of the router.
No change in the result: “missing_scopes”.

By the way, the problem is not at the top of my list, mainly because the flowcards can be easily circumvented in several ways.

I am happy that it works well for you, it would be worse (for the Homey Community)when you were able to reproduce this issue.
Thank you again … also for your help with the ˵#˶.

Hello Ruurd,

Looks like a permission issue.
I just tested with two Pro 19 models, it works well.

What you can do, install the Link app again.
Don’t remove it prior to that.

Next, repair one of the existing linked devices; this forces a re-authentication.

Thanks for your suggestion Peter, it felt like a healthy solution, and yes, the authentication process restarted and was successful, but nothing changed. Then a restart of this P23 did not help either. Then there is a procedure to ˵Repair˶, which also starts a re-authentication, same negative.
I have created a support ticket and am waiting if the developer can shed some light on this.

The other flowcards work well; and I do not know if there is a higher level of authentication for the ˵Restart˶ and ˵Start Flow … on … ˶ flowcards.

Do you have the Experiment feature “power user” enabled, might be needed in both Homeys’ as restarting a Homey with flows is a power user feature.

Thank you for your reply, and yes the feature is enabled …

Makes sense!
Only it doesn’t make a difference.

I did not test the actual ‘restart Homey’ flow card, assuming the reported error was caused by an authentication issue;

Now I got the same error ‘Missing scopes’, with Power user enabled or disabled.
This was from H1 to H2.

But: After disabling Pi-Hole, it works fine!

The other way round, from H2 to H1, it also works fine, even with Pi-Hole enabled & Power user disabled…

@Ruurd_van_der_Noord Do you use any fancy network tools, like Pi-Hole, Adguard, VLANs ?

yes the whole LAN is ˵behind˶ a VPN router. I tested bypassing the VPN: no difference.
The laptop I used for this test runs AdGuard, at the moment I turned it off and VOILA the ˵Restart˶ flowcard works! Thanks a lot for your alertness and testing!

˵The other way round, from H2 to H1, it also works fine˶ … seems a somewhat complicated network issue …? Like AdGuard operates as a DNS server …

Nice to hear, Ruurd!

@Dijker , Geurt, what do you think about adding info like below to the Welcome post?
Something like:
15. In case you’ve altered your network(s) in any way, please disable this first, and try again. Also when you use security tools on your pc/laptop/etc.
For instance: Pi-Hole, Adguard, secured (& filtered) DNS servers, VLANs/multiple subnets, (Windows) firewalls.

Thx!
