Hello, i got a homey pro that looses internet connection. It says lost connection. To fix it i take the power for a few minutes and it works for 2/3 days, then i need to do it again, any tips? Its a homey pro 2016-19
Hi Joakim, to get an idea of what’s happening in the WiFi network, I think the best thing to do is to read the router’s system log. Check for example what DNS, VPN, signal strength indicators etc. do.
Here’s a list of do’s and don’ts
What WiFi network are you trying to use? I have the same Homey and it has worked well since I changed my network to one where I could specify what devices were locked to what WiFi
You can also try another usb cable and power plug. That did it for me
How do i do that when i cant access it without taking the power, can u give me step by step Guide
I thought i read the hole thing, i understand what u mean, in going to check it and come back to you
I’ve got exact the same issues since this week. Eventually I did a full reinstall + restore. After that it seemed to go better, until tonight. I’ve got the Homey Pro (Early 2019) since a few years, and never had these problems.
Same here
Just started doing this constantly
Now it is constantly offline for a 8 hours. Rebooting router, Homey etc doesn’t help anymore.
The last change on Homey Pro was an update.
Not sure it is related somehow but problems started after update.
Tickets submitted but no hope it will be resolved.
Just to answer anyone’s questions - networks is strong, even bulbs outside the house (in metal enclosure) are still connected.
Checking static IP and optimizing network did not helped either.
I’ve had it stable for two days now. I created a new extra WiFi network with only 2.4GHz and connected the Homey to it. Still, it’s strange that the instability started last week because the Homey had been connected to my ‘normal’ WiFi network since I bought it a few years ago. That network has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz available, but I don’t use band steering or anything like that… and I never had this issue before. My network consists entirely of Unifi equipment, and the WiFi coverage (both 5GHz and 2.4GHz) is optimal throughout the house.
Same here, all was stable
I have separate bands and it used to work with no issues.
Waiting for an answer from Athom (sic)
Keep me updated
may be I missed something, but did you already read the System Log of your router?
Sure (at least I did), but the only things logged are the disconnects and reconnects of the Homey. I’ve got between 20 and 30 wireless devices in my house without issues. The only one that had a problem was the Homey. But as I said, the connection has been stable for the last two days, probably thanks to the new 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. However, it still remains strange that I never had any issues until last week. So the fact that the Homey has always been connected to a Wi-Fi network that offers both 2.4GHz and 5GHz has never been a problem.
Thank you for your reply Patrique, well sometimes things can be strange. Yesterday I had problems with WiFi, it appeared to be caused by a LAN cable to one of the mesh-nodes, which worked, but not quite well, it also had connection-drops, … the brown pair (7,8)) was broken …
I use it with 2,4ghz
Yea, checked everything looks great, wifi strength could be better but it has never been a problem before, its only 3 bars
should be fine👍
Well, that rules out one of the problems I had back in the early days. I had netgear mesh and it was a disaster. Changed to UniFi and been grand ever since, although that did require changing a few network settings that Netgear did not offer the option to
