Please, don’t call the Online Backup a backup, it is merely a snapshot. If it was a backup ut would be able to restore my homey to any point in time of my choice. Regardless of FW update etc.
it is more a Backup - of Settings/Config / connected devices
if it was a snapshot “ut would be able to restore my homey to any point in time of my choice.”
(Like The Local Backup is
)
but Who cares, it is made to create a option to:
- Restore on a New Homey if you have a defective Homey
- Migrate from Homey (Pro) to the next Homey Pro model.
And “Local Backup” is more as recovery for “Flash” errors.
There are so much other improvements and features they have a much bigger audience for,
I hope they wil keep focus on these updates for many and don’t bring the features for the nerd in me (and < 1 % of Homey users.). That probably makes the Company more robust.
Whatever
$10 dollar ÷ 12 = 0,83
Is this an official statement from the Homey Developers?
This is a community forum, so no.
let me set my own S3 credentials.
This is the way.
I would like to see this. Particularly because I can then use Wasabi (which is much cheaper), or Minio (which is self-hosted) and both use the AWS S3 API.
