Looking to see if anyone has run into an issue for the Homey Pro 2019 device.
We had just installed our new google mesh router. The device connected, and everything worked fine for about 15 mins and then Homey light went off. I’ve tried to reset it a couple of times and the moment it connects to the wifi, it stops working.
I’ve tried to reset the device. I’ve used different cables too. When trying to set it up again, I goess all the way to the last part in restarting and connecting to wifi and keeping shutting off.
At times, it makes a click sound too. Any advise on this.
Homey 2016-2019 models need a (very) oldskool 2.4GHz wifi to connect and stay connected.
When I’m right, exactly Google has just one of the few systems which doesn’t have a setting to split Wifi into 2.4GHz and 5 GHz…
However, mr. Workaround has this fix:
you can get your old router/modem off of the shelf, turn it into an A.P., and create a 2.4GHz SSID to have Homey connect with it.
Pro 2016-2019 models’ wifi implementation is so very picky, there’s a complete how-to here:
Yea here as well. I think it’s just the speaker saying ‘pop’ when the unit is powered on or off.
Both the mesh and main routers are new (Google Nest and Point). I still have my old router (TP Link) which I can resolve to if all else fail. Thank you
