Homey Energy — Public Beta Megathread

You need to install beta iOS and beta homey

No it’s not available to iOS users.:frowning: Clicking the link to the beta it just says the beta is full ?

Thanks, will check the RC update on my decelopment Homey.
Uhm, Didn’t think that this is a HP19
Don’t know if I want to install the RC on my main Homey.

…couldn’t get my hands of… install is running
Seems I need a second HP23 for development :innocent:

Let me know it’s safe to install ?

Android app keeps loading on start using the latest test version.

Get your pretty “ball” ready to throw in the trash.

Looks good!

Would be nice to enter multiple tarifs and maybe also the “terugleververgoeding” and “terugleverkosten” for the Dutchies. To make sure historic costs are correct it would be good to have a start and end date for the tarifs

Nice initiative, now see how apps like PBTH will develop with this, looking forward to also see how to “configure” this and my “Zonneplan thuisbatterij” which is currently jeopardizing all my P1 data

Clear data (not cache) or uninstallt/install.
!!! Homescreen gets lost then.

Or wait for the new bugfix.

I think the SDK is pretty poorly made

I have an AlphaESS inverter. This single piece of hardware is the inverter for both my battery and my PV Solar panels, also it is wired into my fuse box to measure the power consumption (so an alternative to a P1 meter)

Now with this new SDK the app author has to make it split up into 3 devices… You modeled what should be a capability as a deviceClass

Uninstalling and reinstalling the app was necessary to get it to work. It would be nice if overviews from Energy could also be integrated into the Dashboard.

They Explained in discussion,
something as “sooner or later” is what I remember they said.

Watts coming from the grid remain blank here.
I don’t have solar panels, so everything is coming from the grid.
Using a Homewizard P1 dongle here.

The list with bulk consumers (Dutch: “grootverbruikers”) remains empty here as well.
Would be nice if devices with “static” reporting (“device uses x Watts when it’s turned on” as set in the device settings) would become available here too.
They already are in the Energy widget at the top of the app, so why not here?

How can a cumulative device (Tibber Pulse in that case) to be regognized as house usage and grid usage?

Or can other cumulative devices be defined to be used for house/grid usage? I have also devices imported from HomeAssistant (Fronius inverter).

I pay tariffs for both electricity and gas with 5 decimals behind the (euro)comma. In the app you can only enter 2 decimals.
Won’t be huge difference perhaps, but still nice if you could enter more decimals.

I’m not impressed, I don’t need pre-programmed Energy stuff, I already have it in place (Power by the Hour anyone?). And, next to my “Kügels” I run Home Assistant as well.
I’m still very content with the Pro 2019, and I can quite understand Athom stops new (one time purchase) developments for it, or maybe they decided to skip this particular update.

I mean, how many Pro 2016-2019 users would spend, say, €25 for the Energy tab.

If I remember it starts calculating from Homey Pro v12.3.0-rc.xx and doesn’t have info if you just updated.

Someone know if the dongle will be available in France for the Linky ?

I have 9.1.0.1639 installed in Test flight but no Energy tab. Do I need to activate it?

Had to restart my app here too.
And make sure you install the latest experimental firmware (make sure these are enabled at Homey Developer Tools)
