My home energy meter is a 3 phase meter, will the announced Homey energy dongle cope with the 3 phases and the combination ?
With kind regards
Maarten
The Homey Energy Dongle detects the number of connected phases and displays power, current, and voltage readings for each phase (if supported by your meter).
perfect!!!

Hello
I watched the official video about the energy dongle.
all looks grat, but what about real life?
In particular I was impressed by a screen showing the actual consumption per device (washer, fridge, heating…)
I guess this is only possible if each device is connected through a smart meter plug, right? This plug should measure actual consumption to be accurate.
For some devices in Homey you can provide the theoretical consumption, but if this can work reasonbaly well with some devices (such as a heating for which you know it will consume 1000W when ON and 0 when OFF) I think it does not work for most devices (washer, fridge…)
Am I right or is there an easier (cost effective) solution?
Thanks
The dongle is meant for measuring your total consumption (by connecting it to the P1-port of your smart meter).
For an individual device to show up, it must have the capability to report its own energy usage, like a smart plug or a switch with energy metering capabilities.
As far as I know, calculated consumption (for devices that do not have their own energy metering functionality) is not currently included in the Energy tab.
Ok clear, there I have no real use for the energy dongle, as i can get daily consumption from my energy provider and it does not seem to bring additional info (and I don’t need the info on a higher frequency)
just out of curiosity (I don’t think I’ll take that route as I’m not not there is a real benefit, beside the intellectual exercise) any suggested zigbee product (smart plug / switch) that works well with Holey at a resonable cost?
Thanks
I use INNR SP 240 Zigbee smart plugs. Affordable, especially if you buy them in a 4-pack. Also check my post (and others’) in this topic that discusses a similar question.
As to (in-wall) switches with energy metering, I use Shelly devices. However they are WiFi-based (not Zigbee). Most of my Zigbee in-wall switches are from SONOFF, but don’t have an energy metering option.
When will they be shipped?
