Homey Energy - Dynamic pricing is here (Experimental)

In the current Testflight version of the Homey app, dynamic pricing is available

Does anybody know what values to enter for the Dutch Zonneplan users?

edit: Found it, I entered the same value as in the Power By The Hour app, no idea however where I initially found those values

I now have an extra tile showing the current price

and a graph

no actual cost on devices however, but maybe that will take some time

(Don’t mind the value on my fridge, it’s an Innr SP-240 which will be binned when I receive a replacement plug, certainly NO Innr)

How were you able to enter the values? For Tibber users, I want to enter €0.1475958, but it won’t accept it. It seems like it doesn’t accept numbers that start with €0.

I had to enter an . (dot) instead of a , (comma) to get decimals, bit weird but hé it works

It worked, but only by cutting the numbers and pasting them into the Homey app. There is no dot.

It would be nice if there were an option to add the start date of the tariff. That way, if there’s a change, the history (insights) remains accurate, and the new tariff is also reflected correctly.

Also, when trying to create a formula, the keyboard appears in front of the input field, so you can’t see what you’re typing.

And finally, it would be great if dynamic tariffs for gas were also supported.

I don’t like tagging Athom employees, but I hope they read this :innocent:

Yeah as I noticed in flow editor and other parts of the mobile app. I use Android btw. I don’t know who tests app updates @ Athom’s but it’s not the sharpest eye apparently :wink:

Hi Danee,

I wonder if there’s any flow cards for this? Or is the energy tab just informational?

Can’t see for myself while I’m using Pro 2019’s :grimacing:

That’s a bug in the iPhone app then, I entered the values on my iPad and got a full keyboard.

Makes you indeed wonder about the testing procedures at Athom… @Doekse

@Peter_Kawa Nothing new here, would be nice to have an energy section with flowcards related to it:

Just jumping in to mention that this feature is only available in the experimental (Testflight) version of the app, so bugs like this are to be expected. We’re still testing these features ourselves as well.

Also, I’m the partnerships guy, not the developer, so I won’t be fixing this personally. But I’ll make sure it gets forwarded internally!

We like that you are one of the few Athom guys (or girls) that is active in the community. It would be nice some other of your co workers where like you

I have this information from Zonneplan, what to fill in where?

Handling fee: € 0,02 per kWh

Distribution costs: € 6,25 Monthly

Energy tax: € 0,13165 per kWh

Reduced energy taxes € -52,62 Monthly

Netbeheerkosten: € 35,34 Monthly

I filled in the numbers but after that you don’t get any information anymore.

I turned everything back and the information is back, so it’s not working, I also send an email to Homey with screenshots information.

Is this feature region locked? How could I help so I could also test it in my region. Considering that our prices come from Nord Pool which covers a huge area of countries I’m a little surprised that its not added.

The feature is in beta/experimental, are you participating in that?

I’m not sure what it means. But I do have Homey Pro version 12.5.3-rc.5 and iPhone app version 9.5.0.1799. Both should be latest (beta/testing) versions AFAIK. So unless its even further hidden behind somekind of feature flag I think I should be able to use it. I mean I can switch from Fixed to Dynamic. Its just that it tells me that Dynamic rates are not available in this region. I would not be surprised that this feature is not available in Estonia, considering how small country we are and theres probably not many devices here anyway. But as our electricity prices actually come from Nord Pool that covers Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finaland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands and Poland I’m surprised why it shouldn’t be available.

You should ask Athom, which can be done by issuing a support request.

Don’t think they want people to bother about it. Went through the wizard, selected my Homey Pro → Energy and this lead me to a suggestion to write to a forum

As much as we’d love to help, we focus on general support and can’t assist with custom use-cases. For tailored advice, visit the Homey Community forum, where experienced users might be able to help.

Yes, this is Athom’s “customer support”: a community forum.

But the community cannot answer your questions, or fix your problems. So you really have to ask Athom.

I don’t see how, unless I categorise the question to some other category so it would actually give me a place to enter my question to them. Or phone them. But considering that it is still beta, under development and actually hasn’t been publicly announced I give them some time. If its something thats not available to my region when they publicly announce, well I will escalate it then. I was kind of hopeing that maybe some developer from Atom visits the forum from time to time and maybe knows the answer. So I’m really grateful for your responses and lets see how it plays out.

There’s a way to bypass the smokescreen:

  1. tap My Homeys - “Your Homey”
  2. tap More - “Other” and scroll down
  3. tap “Contact support →”

In addition, if you are a beta user of the mobile app and on iOS, I assume you can also send feedback via the feedback option in TestFlight:
