Help please connecting Google home and Alexa

Hi, I have followed all the steps to connect Alexa and GH but it fails on the last step, “cannot connect to Homey”. I tried an afternoon with ChatGPT and it finally diagnosed that Homey was stuck behind double NAT. ie I have a Netcomm modem/router running into an Eero pro 7 running the network and wifi. ChatGPT helped me switch the Netcom into bridge mode but Eero was still getting a private wan ip 192.168. ChatGPT was sure this was the problem as Homey showed the connection as Local Secure. It states this is the reason Alexa and GH cannot connect to Homey. Chat even had me ring my provider to push the bridge command for the Netcomm.

I thought the idea was for Homey to be secure and local for protection.

Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

Google Home and Alexa connect via the cloud, I’m behind double NAT as well without issues. It doesn’t matter. You should force-close the Google Home app on your phone and open it again.

You confuse Homey with Home Assistant on this matter

Home Assistant also doesn’t have any local integration for Google Home, the only way to link with Google or Alexa is a cloud service. That’s by design, because those voice assistants run in the cloud (when you ask a question to Google when you don’t have internet, it also doesn’t work)

I wasn’t referring to using cloud services, Sven, but the statement itself.
