Suddenly my Frient devices do not work anymore. They claim that the (Frient) app is not available. But it is still installed. When I restart the app I get the message (see picture below) that it is not installed. I uninstalled the app, installed it again from the Homey website, restarted my Homey. Result is the same. The app is there, but it keeps telling me that it is not.
What has happened, what to do, … ?
(Latest app I installed before this happened is the official Somfy app).
Possibly related to the Cloudflare outage. Just wait until that is over and try again.
Cloudfare came to my mind to. But my son and daughter have Homeys too, with the Frient app and there they still work. ![]()
I have a few Homewizard users complaining about the same “not installed”
So, I just restarted Homey in an attempt to get something else working (Messing around with a camera) but when Homey got back online, my smoke detectors that have been working for like a year suddenly became unavailable (Frient smoke detectors), I then went to the Frient app and hit “Restart App” but then got a message that the app is “Not installed”, I tried rebooting Homey once more and now even the icons are gone. What is this? There is no “Repair” option on the devices either since it doesn’t realize it is connected to the Frient app anymore. I tried installing the Frient app again but nothing happens.
Just did a Homey cloud backup restore: all apps installed before have status “Not installed”, and all devices have exclamation mark. Nearly all images (pictures) are gone on Homey app store.
Yes, the issue with the images related to the Cloudflare outage. The icons in my app developer page are also gone.
These issues are related to the Cloudflare outage: https://status.homey.app/
But, these are zigbee devices, it shouldn’t matter that some online service is malfunctioning then?
No, after a restore the apps need to be downloaded from the Homey app store. After the outage it should be possible again.
Then let’s hope is a coincidence and just a matter of broken Homey firmware.
Similar thread here: Frient app states: "not installed"
I just got the exact same issue with Frient and started my own thread about it, good to see that more people have the same issue, maybe it’s just temporary then… but still, it feels really bad that my LOCAL Zigbee devices get unavailable because some random issue on the internet. It’s almost like they want us to just migrate over to Home Assistant… Does anyone have any insight as to WHY this is even happening? Like I said, the devices are local zigbee devices, they should work even without internet so how on earth can something that occur on the internet affect this in any way?
The Cloudflare issue seems to be resolved, the images are loading again in the Homey App Store
Good point Robert. Really difficult to understand how it’s even possible that apps stop working due to a random cloud problem. How fragile the Homey architecture is?
Depends!
This is only valid for cloud backups.
Offline backups contain a 1:1 image of the entire Homey.
However, when one installed an app @ Homey, one would expect it’s saved to and installed on it’s local storage.
Cloud errors shouldn’t have any effect in that case. But apparently it works slightly different ![]()

When the zigbee app “disappeared” or whatever is going on, your zigbee devices don’t know what to do anymore.
Yes but the app is running locally on the homey, the app shouldnt be affected by what happens online AFAIK. I just replaced all my crappy wifi based devices for zigbee in order to run everything local (since i learned that homey used cloud services for a lot of wifi devices). If zigbee aswell requires stable internet, then what is even the point of using the word “local” in anything Homey related? I think I seriously need to consider moving to HA, these types of issues just keep piling up…
