Eve Door and Window Matter over thread

Bought a 3-pack for use with Homey Pro as thread router. One continues to work like a dream. Two of them would not work consistently. Maybe a QC problem. The design is clunky and not great for certain doors or sliders. Recommend the Aqara P2.

As already described several times in other topics (use Search), you generally have to use Apple-Thread, then everything works perfectly.

I am not aware that atom is responsible for the design of the device :scream:

That requires an Apple hub of some sort, and Homey should be the only hub you’ll ever need…

That’s right, but your solution via HomeAssistant also requires additional software and hardware.

I can’t say whether the whole thing also works via Android. I only have HomePods and AppleTVs around, so why shouldn’t I use them if they work and they also set up a mesh network for me.

In addition, I have connected all devices to the EveHome app (now also available for Android) via “[device] > Settings > Maintenance > Matter Node”. This has the advantage that the Thread network is no longer a blackhole but only a “grayhole” and hopefully the OTA problem is now solved (unfortunately I haven’t received an FW update yet to be sure).

Other than Home Assistant not marketing itself, or their devices, as the only hub you’ll ever need, or costing €400, I didn’t offer any solution here?

I posted to provide information for others who, like me, are interested in thread over matter devices for their Homey Pro.

Thanks for letting me know that I could have used an Apple router to make it work. But I don’t own one, and there might be other folks who want an out of the box solution for Homey Pro.
