Connecting Meross devices which are homekit-enabled

Hello everyone,

I have a few Meross devices which are HomeKit compatible / enabled and work via Wifi.

I see two ways of getting them in Homey Pro:

  • via the Homey Meross app (from the store). As far as I understand, it works using the non-local API. If correct, this would mean non-local, possibly slow, etc.
  • I also managed to connect them directly using the HomeKit Controller Homey app from the store (the app uses HomeKit protocol to talk directly to the devices over tcp/ip locally). This sounds better, but that means that the devices are “generic” inside Homey and might not support all capabilities that Meross exposes through their API

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you searched in the App Store ?

I literally described two apps from the App Store…

HI there. Complete newbie here… 2 days in. There seem to be more than one “HomeKit” app developed by community but which one do you use? I too have some HomeKit enabled Meross plugs too add. thanks

I’ve seen many positive responses regarding the HomeKitty app

If you want to add devices to Homey that support HomeKit over WiFi, you need to use the HomeKit Controller app.

Other apps (like HomeKitty, HomeyKit and the built-in HomeKit experiment) are meant for exposing Homey devices to HomeKit, so the other way around.
