Hi.
I changed my home network provider and needed to change my wifi. But I didn’t have a cloud back-up from Homey (regret it now).
Their support website asked me to perform “Activating Setup Mode for Homey Pro”. But now everything is gone and it asks me to configure a new “home”, there was nothing about this on their Support page.
I also didn’t get the option to connect to the old home.
Is there any way to get my old Homey setup back?
I’m really desperate
Hi Abdul, welcome on this forum … sad day for you. Without a local USB-backup (Homey Pro 2023, or an online backup there is no way that I am aware of that could do a restore of some sort in case you already started setup mode. If your Homey is still in the old setup maybe you could restore the internet connection. So, do not run the setup mode too soon, it might be possible to run a local USB-backup also … I am sorry, the good news is that this will not happen a next time something goes wrong for you.
Hmmmm…
Either it is a bug or you did it wrong, or…
afaik there isn’t, it asks to
Finish Setup on a already Setup Homey after connecting the Homey successfully to your new WiFi
Or to
RESET TO FACTORY SETTINGS
That I hope you didn’t choose.
I have done it multiple time without losing data, so please explain:
What Firmware version was your Homey?
What Mobile App (Version) did you use?
Have you done it with the Owner account to Change the Wifi of the configured Homey (Never tried it with another account.)
(Just to narrow down when it is a bug)
(Maybe there is another Question if using a different account then the Owner account? I don’t know.)
PS: Just tested this with Homey Pro FW 12.3.2-rc3 / Android Mobile App 9.1.0.1665 but these could be still Experimental/Beta at this moment. Don’t think anything changed in recent versions.
When you’ve entered setup mode, in the mobile app, you always have to select ‘+ Add new Homey’, even if it"s your existing Homey!
Next, select your Homey model.
Next it should find your existing Homey, and you’d be able to configure it.
I hope someone has a solution because otherwise this is going to be a huge timesync. I got new internet at my house. Changed the wifi network following the online instructions (I did this before and it worked well that time although it’s pretty remarkable you can’t simply change the network in settings).
Everything seemed to work, but then the homey spontaneously went into reset mode again. I tried to connect again with the new wifi and it did connect, but then I got into the setup wizard. I already feared things went wrong at that point, and indeed.
Everything, all devices, all flows, all gone. To make the matter worse, I cannot read ANY of my zigbee devices. It’s just a real pain. I probably have to set some of these devices in setup mode again, which means unscrewing lamps, getting into ceilings etc.
Any advice to lighten the burden? I did not make an online backup.
Thank you for the swift replies, much appriciated and thank you for merging the topic, I did not find the other one.
I don’t think I pressed something wrong. It was working at first, with steady rainbow colors, but then for some reason decided to get into setup mode once more. I did briefly see a red light at some point though, which I believe was mentioned before as a factory reset state.
One last related question if you don’t mind. Is it normal that I cannot re-add any of the Zigbee devices (without pressing a setup-mode-button on the device). Because it would be a real pain to get to some of those devices again since they are built in into the light fixtures.
