Motion sensors (IR) can’t detect living creatures through glass. Presence sensors (mmwave) can.

I use a Fibaro motion sensor near the glass wall of the shower. It detects motion from above. When 2 minutes no motion is detected the light switches off. Works perfect.

For me a Sonoff SNZB-06P works perfectly fine. As it is a presense sensor it detects the person behind the glas without any problems.

Why not two motion sensors? One inside the bathroom (turn on) and one outside (turn off). You can use the second one for other purposes as well.

I think it should be possible still with one motion sensor. Just point it in a direction where it only detects if you enter or leave the bathroom. When I read all the problems, I just wonder why you don’t use a mart wall switch to signal to Homey you are entering or leaving the bathroom :innocent::wink: Or even better just use the thumb wall switch of course.

I concur with this - just mount the sensor straddling the shower door/curtain. We have this in two bathrooms and it works well.

Can you just adjust the delay for the length of a shower so that it stays on longer? I put a pico remote on the opposite wall of the shower that I just press if the light goes off before I’m finished showering.
