I’m starting to think the app is getting worse. Everything worked fine at first, but after each update, less and less works. Even a simple flow doesn’t work for me anymore.
You should rely on the snapshot tag from the trigger card instead.
I will have a look at the ‘Snapshot is made’ card and why it is not working for you. Can you trigger it and send a diagnostic report?
We are working hard to improve the integration and its quality. With 300+ devices with of most standalone and hub connected devices and with a lot of deviation and inner workings this is less easy then you think.
When I manually start the flow, the snapshot from Test doesn’t work! Only snapshot from Test1 produces an image. But as I said, it was started manually.
I’m starting to think that this isn’t actually an official app built by Reolink, but an app that Homey has got permission from Reolink to build using a third party agency.
Why is it taking so long to get a solid, working app together?
Why support doorbells without having the business foresight to see it won’t be good UX unless there is two way audio?
That is true. I am working closely with Reolink to get the best experience for our Homey users.
But again: What you’re expecting is standard for dedicated camera apps, but outside the scope of what Homey currently provides. The integration focuses on triggers and automation, not full real-time interaction.
I’m here to help and to investigate users that experience issues with the integration.
Wow… just wow I am quite appalled by the level of moaning and complaining, and totally uncalled for snipes at both Homey and Reolink.
If you want two way audio and all that doorbell functionality configure the Reolink mobile app and it will work. The Homey integration is for automation like signalling a doorbell press with ringers, lights etc. Two way audio isn’t available on Homey, for any brands/integrations.
I have a number of Person detections on several different models of Reolink cameras that have been working just fine. I think it just depends on testing and getting your flow and camera configuration right and then it does work.
The key thing to remember is this integration has only just been released, and is still in active development. So there are bound to be some teething issues. Sniping at the developers does not help the continued development of integrating these two great brands.
When I check the camera’s properties, you can see that it hasn’t received any data for days. This is the case for person, vehicle, motion, and animal detection.
Have you tried doing a Repair on the camera. Or if all else fails remove and re-add the camera, to see if either of those fixes the issue? Have you tried power cycling the camera, or checking all the port, IP, and authentication credentials are correct?
I have several TrackMix PoE cameras, and I haven’t had issues. They regularly report person and animal motion detection.
Everything worked perfectly until two weeks ago. Then, after every update, more and more problems started. I haven’t changed anything. No IP address, no port, no flow. Everything has remained the same. I’ve restarted Reolink and Homey.
Same version of the ReoLink app for Homey as I am running.
What about your Homey hardware (device) you are running, and what version of Homey are you running?
(PS I wouldn’t leave your camera UID on public display like that… might find other people connecting to your camera… not a good idea)
