[APP][Pro] Ubiquiti UniFi Network

Sorry to barge in on this old topic, but I recently started to use this function to determine if somebody is at home or not.

But after using it for some time, I notice that occasionally cellphone disconnect and immediately reconnect again.
I have been thinking about what kind of logic I could apply by maybe looking at disconnect time and connect time, and if those happen lets say within 10 seconds, no further events should be triggered.

Or is this an actual solutions for avoiding the fast reconnects alltogether?

I’ve noticed the same thing and I am using this app for the same purpose. In my case, I think it is because that specific cell phone is switching from one UAP to another. And in the meantime it is completely disconnected from the network.
The easy fix here is to check if a phone is disconnected from the network for longer than 1 minute. I have yet to implement that

Ok, I got to implementing this today.

I thought it would be this simple… but it is not…

I’ll try to connect to unifi network app without succes. I’ got everytime error message that my credentials are not good. Can someone help me out?

Did you add a specific user to your Unifi network? That’s what I have: a separate Homey user that can be used for the Homey app to login

I have the same pronlemn, and uses it like that to. works fine for me

I’ll made one but because of the MFA It doens’t connect. I dont see how I can setup it out.

Please read the manual, you must create an local account and not a cloud account. Go to your controller directly and create an separate account for Homey Network app. When you also using Protect create also an separate user for that app to.

I make a local account with read-only. Now is my Homey connected to my UDM SE. If i try to make een new device then I get the status fout 401… (authorization issue)…

It’s working now. Thanks

It happened again… Please help :sob::joy:

This is working…. And now we have this: New in Flow: Sustained Values & Multi-Select | Homey News

Tried searching and found similar questions but no definitive answer, so trying to ask if anyone has a solution.

When I try to run a flow with the ā€œwhenā€-cards of ā€œDevice just connectedā€ nothing happens. I turned on ā€œEnable flowsā€ in the app settings and tried with it off.

If I set up a flow where I chose my phone as a specific client and chose a when-cards when that client connects, the flow starts every time. So there seems to be no problem for the app to register the connection of a specific client - but I can’t get it to start a flow with the card when any client connects.

Anyone experienced similar problem and knows of a solution?

Got it to work.

  1. On your Unifi controller, create local user with 32 character password

  2. Give user Super Admin permissions

  3. On your Homey, fill in the local IP of your controller with port 443 and your newly created credentials from step 1

  4. Use the site ā€œdefaultā€ (no capital D!)

  5. Succes!

Edit: Hold your horses…

I could add the Unifi controller but when I want to add an actual Unifi device I get the 401 error code

Hello @DvStarrenburg Homey can’t reach the Unifi Controller. Are they on the same network and vlan?

Can you DM me? And send me some screenshots with the steps?

Hi duderuud and @ObelixNL

I was facing the same issues as you about a week ago, and couldn’t figure out why.
The app could connect just fine, but when attempting to add new devices I got the error code 401 as well. Furthermore I have devices added to my Homey already, but the status of these device are not being updated anymore, so all my flows that contains objects related to this app is not working as intended anymore.

After having exhausted all ideas of how to fix it, I tried rebooting my Dream Machine, and that actually helped, for about a week, now I am back to the same situation again, error code 401 and status of devices are not updating.

Will attempt another reboot later to see if this helps.
Dream Machine and Homey are both running the latest OS versions.

Do you have any other integrations ? Like protect of homeassistant ? With the same user?

Hi ObelixNL

Nope, only using integrations for Homey Pro, however, I utilize the Ubiquiti UniFi Network and Ubiquiti UniFi Protect apps for Homey Pro, and with the same account, which has been working just fine until now.

I can setup a separate local account for each of the apps if this is considered a better solution.
