The log is continuously updated with all sorts of information from my two cameras. One error message is “response.currentTime.getTime” is not a function.
Could you send the log so I can analyse what is going on.
I’m clicking send log in the app, but obviously, you don’t receive it.
I have now got a log. I can see the error so will need to investigate that.
However, I can see motion events coming in, but there are things in the format that I haven’t seen before, so when I get home I will take a closer look at everything to try and figure out what is going on.
So, it seems your camera sends response.CurrentTime
instead of response.currentTime
and java is case sensitive. I have published a new test version to cope with that.
Also, it looks like you need to set the ‘ONVIF Motion Notification to use’ to 'MOTIONALARM (State) in the device advance settings and then it should detected the motion.

Yes!! It works. Amazing. Thank you so much👍🏻
What’s the difference between “sensor” and “camera” under Motion Trigger → Device Class ?
It’s for things like dashboards and Alexa, etc. Sometimes they will only accept one or the other class. Originally the app class was Camera, but to be able to use the motion detection in some external applications it needed to be a Sensor.
So, it has no real affect to Homey but allows flexibility when integrating into to other ecosystems.
when i want to use the analytics setup from my dahua camera setup.
like, human detection or vehicle. do i need to setup in my nvr also?
do ii think correct that the setting inside my nvr copies to what signals are caught by your app?
hope i explained myself correct.
I’m not sure. If you have connected directly to the camera then I don’t think so, but if you have connected to the NVR then I guess so.
I’ll go investigate tomorrow if it’s not raining whole day.
to be continued
EDIT:
after some testing i get my notification on smd(smart motion detection)human in the IMOU app.
but cant get it in homey to detect motion.
tried all 4 options motion, analyticservice, motionalarm and digitalinput.
what to do? to get the detection in homey working like on my IMOU app?
Hi All,
I have connected my ONVIF Reolink camera but i got the following error message from Homey ERR_INVALID_PROTOCOL. Does anyone know how to solve this?
I also connected the same camera to my NAS and this works fine. So this bassicly means that the camera is sending a stream which can be seen from another device (in this case the security software on my NAS). So credentials and port settings are correct.
The camera is a Reolink video doorbell connected via LAN PoE
Can you open the app settings page, select the Diagnostics tab and set the option to Basic Information and then get the error to occur. Then send the log so I can see where the error occurs.
Hi Adrian can you help me also with my setup? See my above post. I hope you can help me.
Sorry, I seemed to have overlooked your post.
Have you enabled the motion detection in the Homey app (button on the first tab)?
no problem. and for the motion detection, yes i have it enabled.
its just after i switched the xvr to smd human so AI homey wont detect motion.
if i dont use the AI funtion the xvr makes me nuts after detection motion from sunshades etc
was a pain in the $%^to get that all working but i think it was the right way.
now integrate in homey… hahaha
Ok, so could you open the app settings page, select the Diagnostics Log tab and set the option to Basic Information. Then trigger motion on the camera and then send the log. I will look to see if any events are picked up.
Hi Adrian. A bit late reaction but here it is. I send you the diagnostic log with basic information, and triggered the motion.
I hope you see any info you can you use.
