[APP][Pro] SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus

@Phil_Bro i guess you mean working in the modbus app and not this SE+Growatt TCP app since i dont have the flowcards in this app.

If you use the modbus app could you share the flow and registers ? Since i only have succes shutting is down and on at register 00

Hi

The connection stops wording after a few minutes. What can be the problem?

Not sure Marco, I just installed this app:

Selected Growatt + (in my case) battery, did this for the SPH and the TL-XH inverter.

I am willing to share parts of the advanced flows that regulates export%, but you need to have the flowcards available.

Run everything on 3 homey pro’s 2019, 2 on each location and 1 for central control (using the recently released homeylink app.

Strange , I don’t get the option to limit it

I have the mic 1500tl-x so i just choose growatt and not the growatt+battery…

So i guess these modbus options havent yet been implemented in the normal growatt device that can be selected.

I will try when there is sun again if get the option with the +battery device

Some advanced flow info to regulate the inverter

Some basic setting

The vars I use to regulate everything regarding the inverter

Part of the flow to regulate:

  • Set export to 0 if pricing is close to 0,0
  • Reduce export if the Voltage is to high (2 steps)
  • Reduce export if the ceiling of max. solar input has been detected

The part of the flow to SET the inverter based on change of variable (as set with previous queries)
NOTE: Set the inverter on change did not work flawless as the inverter does not like to be set each minute or to frequently. Changed that to interval 15min.

The inverter was still online with the little bit of sunlight and i installed my growatt as the growatt-tl-X + Battery.

It offcourse gives me a battery empty notice straight away since i dont have a growatt battery but i now have the flow cards to limit the export and disable the export completely

I will test tomorrow if these also work then i guess the only thing that has to be done is to bring the code of the normal Growatt device that can be selected to the feature the +battery has minus the battery support :slight_smile:

@Edwin_Biemond

What @Phil_Bro is showing is correct. The devices with the name +battery already/do have the limit export % flow cards and they also work on my growatt TL-X without battery

So i guess the only thing to make this work is to have growatt device have the code for the limit % and the on an off or have a new device GroWatt TL-X without the battery support.

I could continue with the +Battery version but this constanly is giving me homey messages that the battery is empty :slight_smile: Correct since the TL-X doesnt have a battery

But my setup doesnt have the battery , thats why i selected the normal Growatt device that doesnt have the export limit code. So the constant battery empty notifications are correct :slight_smile:

I understand 100%. I thought with a temporary solution you might be able to mute the notification or exclude this from the timeline.

[edit] I found the settings to mute / disable all energy notifications, which is step 1 according to the first link I sent you. It is in the mobile homey app.

Creating a flow to allow only the ones you want to receive notifications is not difficult.

mostly for flow actions you need at least some meters installed. did you do that? if so then you can use the battery growatt device even with no battery.
it save me from making a lot of devices and for battery it is a requirement to make it work.

Yes I tested with the battery and all works fine except voor the battery :squinting_face_with_tongue:

And yes I have lots of meters installed all over the place to control the energy consumption everywhere
That’s why I was looking for a few to control the growatt in export

I mean modbus meters and connected to your growatt inverter, p1 or others won’t work.
with that you should be able to put export to zero and still do your house load with available solar.

I just need to limit the export so I don’t return to the grid when prices are negative .

I just need the flows to limit export by % and turn limitation on and off flow card that the +battery devices do have.
These work and with this cards in the normale growatt device I can tune the solar output with the values of alle my non modbus meters to have a almost perfect no delivery back to the grid

Maybee I’m not getting you’re questions right but the “need” for the export limitation of a inverter is completely something else then the need for other modbus p1 or other meters

so did you try this with the modbus app [APP][Pro] SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus - #1509 by Edwin_Biemond

you can control it already, check if you can read this holding register.

Maybee pm
In Dutch ?, I don’t think you understand what the request/issue is .

Once more and I hope it’s clearer then:

When selecting from device the device named growatt you don’t have the flowchards enable export limitation and enable/disable limitation

The other two selectable growatt devices with the +battery in the name do have these.
These are not specific to the battery you can connect , so they should / would also be available for the normal growatt inverter missing the +battery in the name.

I have tested this with the +battery version and it works like a charm . But giving me all kinds of issues because I’m getting empty battery notifications and empty battery report in homey energie dashboard . That’s logical ofc because there is no battery connected and I have selected the +bat while I should have sledged just growatt

yes I understand but I don’t have a growatt inverter so I want you to test it out with Modbus App for Homey | Homey what works so I can add it to the normal growatt device.

or what flow action of battery device works for you so I can copy that to the normal device.

A now I get it . I will test every flow action I can find in the battery+ tomorrow that could work on the none battery once there is sun and I’ll report back. I just looked and tested the set export limitation % and the enable and disable export limitation action card
Will do the others to

Sun came up so I started testing .

And the device variable tags:

Working mode on Huawei inverters - not sure it’s the actual parameter name but I think it is storage_working_mode_settings that can have another value for remote/third party dispatch, if it could be added and thereby also controlled? Currently these are the available modes/values
“values”: [
{
“id”: “0”,
“title”: “Adaptive”
},
{
“id”: “1”,
“title”: “Fixed charge/discharge”

{
“id”: “4”,

I can try to obtain the values using the ModBus app but I have no clue where or how to look..
