Hi Doekse, thanks for the app and for the SDK. Could you tell me whether these two devices are, or will be, supported?
Meross Smart Garage Door Opener (MSG100)
Meross Smart Light Bulb (MSL430)
I saw in the SDK README that devices are enrolled by Ability rather than a model list, with cover and light traits, so I’m hoping they will work. I currently use the other Meross app (com.meross) for these two, but I’d prefer to have a single Meross app on my Homey.
Hi Doekse, a technical question out of curiosity: I saw that the app moved to the Python runtime in 2.0.0, while node-meross-sdk is a Node library. Did you port the Meross logic to Python, or is the Node library still used somehow? And is the SDK still being developed, or has it been replaced?
I initially moved it to Python because I wanted to use the meross_lan library that Home Assistant also uses. Unfortunately, I found that the library was a bit too tightly coupled to Home Assistant and still exposed quite a few Meross-specific quirks that I wanted the SDK to abstract away.
So with v3.0.0, I’ve moved back to the Node.js runtime, and both the SDK and the app are now fully written in TypeScript.
Hello, I was able to enroll my MSS425F Surge Protector (LAN connectivity) in Homey Pro using the latest test version of official Meross App. I can control (On/Off) individually each plug but the device keeps on rebooting let’s say around every 15 minutes which is quite annoying.
Any chance that the app will support soon MSG200 garage door? Up to now, I use the Meross community app but status feedback is not correct.
I’ll look into that bug! Might be something I’ve already fixed in an upcoming version. Some Meross restart when being polled something they don’t support.
Garage door openers will also be supported in the future.
I have a Meross MSS530H three-gang Wi-Fi wall switch. The official Meross app and Amazon Alexa both expose all three gangs separately and allow independent control.
In Homey Pro, the switch appears as a single on/off device, so I cannot control each gang independently or migrate my motion-sensor automation to Homey.
Could you confirm whether the MSS530H is supported by your app, or whether support for three independent channels could be added?
Are you using the Smart Switch driver? If so each gang should be added as its own independent device within Homey. If that doesn’t work I’ll need to have a look at what is going wrong. A diagnostic report from just after pairing the device would help a lot.
Yes, I have installed the device using the Smart Switch driver, but unfortunately, Homey still shows only one switch instead of the three independent gangs. I cannot control each gang separately, even though all three work independently in the Meross app and Amazon Alexa.
You mentioned that a diagnostic report just after pairing the device would help you investigate the issue. Could you please explain how I can generate and send this diagnostic report? I’m not sure where to find this option in Homey Pro.
I’d be happy to provide the report to help you identify and resolve the problem.
