Yep, rename your devices ![]()
Yeah, that makes everything redundant and alot longer names (including zones etc) and then I cant see the names of the device in Homey App cause its truncatedâŚ
As a workaround, you can try Device capabilities app, there is no filtering built-in either but at least you see device zones. 3rd option is to wait for native Athom grouping - maybe in 2025âŚ
Thanks, been trying out a bit with device capabilities, but its not really what Iâm looking for. Will be using the zone for ON/OFF and Better Lights app for dimming (for now).
Hi, I have the same problem the last days. I have groups for all my âevening lightsâ (on/off) and last week two of the lamps has not worked - they stand as unselected, but when I reselect them and reopen the ârepairâŚâ they are still unselected.
Going to settings I see them repeated under âDevicesâ - but does not work. Now it says I have 26 devices, when thereâs only 11. I am afraid these duplicates will mess things up.
Nothing has changed here before, and I have tried to recreate those groups, but still doesnât work. When starting using âGroupsâ years back I realized itâs important that the device type is set to âlightsâ in my example for it to work, but they are. Devices not working for me (in groups) are Nexa and they work fine otherwise.
Have you found a resolution? Agree, this feature is good - it should be built in imo.
Did you try restarting the app? Usually it fixes the problem for me. Itâs no permanent fix though, often it will reappear after the Homey is restarted.
Hello, I share my tip, when I have to use group in a flow, I put a card restart the group application, with a delay of one minute then the card(s) that are part of the group. I do it for switching on and off my lights
Like others before me I want to express my gratitude for this app, really appreciate the effort put into developing it, and it should be added to Homey core functionality - so kudos and keep up the good work @Jamie!
can you tell a bit more about the produces /OEM of the lights are (i only have problems with Zipato bulbs, not sure version 1 or version 2) and the technology (all my bulbs are z-wave)
i have the same problems. What type of lights are you using? (i only have problems with Zipato bulbs, not sure version 1 or version 2) and the technology (all my bulbs are z-wave)
my ikea lights are working fine with groups.
Sorry for being late responding⌠I have restarted several times - but will try again this evening. The brands of the units in this case are NEXA receivers.
I really think this talk about certain brands and communication standards giving problems is a red herring. I canât see there being any particular pattern which devices the app forgets to control.
Same problem here with Philips Hue spots. I really love the app (besides this haha). In my living room I have 6 spots, alle Philips hue. 1 is behaving the same as yours. In our bedroom I have 8 of the same hue spots and also 1 of them doesnât react.
For me restarting the âgroupsâ app worked.
Hi there,
Iâve got a problem that is similar to the duplicates mentioned above:
I have ghost devices.
There were some devices I had to unpair/repair with homey (with the same name). Now when I do a ârepairâ function to update my group, I select the 3 lights I want, but it tells me â5 devices are selectedâ (only 3 are checked). Also, when going to settings, I can clearly see the duplicate devices, including those that are now gone from Homey.
I tried restarting, no change. I could probably delete this group and create a new one, this would break a lot of flows.
Any chance I can solve that without the nuclear option?
Thanks!
Heya everyone, I hope your weekend is off to a great start!
So I want to group some lights together so they are easier to control - but I donât want to lose the ability to sometimes control them individually. I saw that there was a group app - and it looks promising, but will I still be able to control the lights (or other devices I group together) individually when needed?
Yes, app just allows you to create new device, which controls other devices but you can still control them individually
I have the same issue, tried making a new group but the problem persists with the same light.
Today I updated my Homey Pro and group app and two of my lights stopped working using group app. I tried creating a new group to test and these two lights are always not working. One of them is a xiaomi light strip and other is fibaro switch, which is strange because I have like 7 other fibaro switches and they all works except this one lights using group app.

Thank you for a great app. There is just one small feature that I miss, if it would be possible to add. When I group RGB lamps, the capability for color temperature is missing. Is this something that could be easily implemented?
is a very useful app! The only problem I had was to find this information: âAfter installing, to add a new Group, click + (add) upon the devices tab select âGroupâ.â I recommend to add this information as first step instead of â1) Choose the class of group you want (ie. lights)â to the app description.
Thanks
