[APP][Pro] < group > (3.2.4 - Stable)

Hi @Jamie, thanks a lot for your great app. I will send you some donation., too.

Same issue here.
I tried to create a new group which ends in the same result.
Each time I try to repair, the number of devices on the button label is increasing, but the devices are not shown as marked afterwards and do not behave as part of the group.

Since Homey Pro 12.3.0 all my ‘group’ lights are missing one of the lights of the group when setting On or Off. Restarted the Homey Pro without success.

Anyone with the same issue? Unfortunately can’t contact the developer, never received my confirmation mail to submit the issue.

Not uncommon after a firmware upgrade. Try restarting just the Group app, not the entire Homey.

That’s the solution, thanks!

Hi Jamie,
Question about using a group for door/windows sensors:
I use the IF card “The contact alarm turned on”, but it doesn’t seem to trigger if one of the other sensors is already on. Is this correct?
I want an action if one of the sensors turns on, no matter if another sensor may already be on.
Greetings,
Rene

Same issue, did not fix it

Ahh, so simple.

This has bothered me for several days now, since I noticed it. Tried several things. Was almost about to delete and re-add all my Hues. I was about to ask if anyone else experienced this when I saw this reply.

Thanks.

Same issue here. When checking the developer tools, it does add another instance of the name of the peripheral, but not the actual device list. So, now I have:

8 instances of the label “Schemerlamp zijkant” but only 1 instance of its UUID. It doesn’t work…

I have now created a flow that restarts this app every hour. The bug that one or more devices suddenly is just ignored by the group for some reason have too much of an impact on many of my flows and I can’t constantly monitor it to do a manual restart every time it happens.

I have the same issue on my HP early 2019.

It´s been going on for a long time now.
The groups brake every day and some devices stop responding from the group and have to be operated individually.

Repair does not work.

I have two chandeliers in my living room: " Kroonluchter achter " and " Kroonluchter voor." Both are controlled by a dimmer from EcoDim and work without any issues. However, I am unable to add “Kroonluchter achter” to a group and keep it there.
When I attempt to repair the group, I can select " Kroonluchter achter" and everything seems fine upon saving. However, when I go back to repair the group again, " Kroonluchter achter " has disappeared from the selection. Additionally, I am unable to create a light group with only " Kroonluchter achter".
All other lights work without any problems. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this?

I have added an example. In the first image, a new group is created, and only “Kroonluchter achter” is selected and saved. Then, a repair is performed, and with the “xxx” selection, I only see the selected lights from the group. The strange thing is that “Kroonluchter achter” is displayed but is not checked.

Hello, I can´t change the devices in the “group” app. I can´t add or remove devices in it, anyone who know how to do?

The easiest way is to use the web interface.
Go to the device view, right click on the group you want to edit and select “repair” in the menu.

Thanks

First of all: A big thanks to @Jamie for a really great App!!
WIth < group > I could build goodlooking and functional floorlamps (6 bulbs in each) that are easy to handle.
Again a big thanks with a small donation!

I have been using the group app for several years, but in the past 2 years I have encountered some things that intermittently are not working.
Example:
I have 8 HUE lights, all dimmable bulbs with white tones (no colors). I have puut them in 2 groups of 3 and a group of 2.
I also added 2 groups for all lights, one has these 3 groups and the other one has all 8 individual lights.
Next I have some flows that dim one of the “all” groups slowly up when sun goes down, and some other flows that responds to a remote, to switch them all on or off, or dims them all up or down.

What goes wrong is that often 1 or 2 of the lights don’t follow the group action, while I can do yhe same action on them individually. And they are not always the same ones.
I thought at some point that it was a matter of restarting thd groups app to f8x it so I was considering to make a flow to restart it daily. But I found it doesn’t fic it consistently, so I think that’s a false lead.

I also tried the one with all individual lights instead of using the subgroups, but no improvement
So, what then could cause it?

I have a similar problem with the “Group” function. Sometimes lamps disappear from the group.

When I do maintenance on the group to fix that, I also see that Homey cannot count correctly. “5 devices selected” and only 3 lamps have a check mark. If I add the missing lamps again, I apparently have 7 lamps, of which 5 have a check mark.

If I try to do maintenance again, I again have 3 lamps with a check mark and according to the counter I still have 7 lamps in the group.

However if you go to advanced settings and look at “apparaten” you see the disapeared lamp, but then multiple times. Unfortunately the lamp is not responding to changes of setting in the group. see image:

When i change something on the lights setting from this group on my phone app, I get the message “Homey was unable to communicate with …” So far, it always concerns z-wave lamps from Zipato that cannot be reached, and it is always the same lamp. The light responds correctly despite the errormessage on the screen of my phone. I have removed the lamp once and installed a new lamp, but then the message moves to another lamp.

By The Way, i love this function. It makes homey so much more usefull !!

Update: i have removed the (Z-ware) bulbs from the network and installed them again (under a different name), repaired the groups (where the wrongly / double registered bulbs disappeared automatically) and it seems oke now. I will keep you posted.

So I have organized my house by floors and rooms, so its nice and tidy:

  1. Floor, 1. Floor - Room 1, 2. Floor - Room 2

etc.

However, when I select devices to group I only see the device name not what zone it belongs to. When you have 20+ lamps for instance, that becomes a problem:

Is there a way to see what I’m adding? Like zone?
