[APP][Pro] < group > (3.2.4 - Stable)

I use hue lights (50-100) and have not seen that error.
I only speak english is “Pallen - Allrummet” the name of a group or device?

Hi.

It’s a device, Hue.

Does the device update when you change the group?

ie. are you getting the notification but its working, or do you get the notification and it doesnt update?

I assume the other devices in the group all update correctly?

Thanks for answers.

Yes the devices update fine and no problems, both colours and dim thats why this is weird.
It’s all sporadic and different devices every time but all ok, just enjoying info.

I set up my Somfy roller shutters as a group.
The group should go down at the specified time.
It always worked completely, but now individual blinds remain up.
Could this be due to the group app?

What happens when you create a flow to put all blinds down at once? Does it always work or does sometimes one of the items remain up?

I’ll have to test it more carefully this evening.
I then connect different devices together in a group.

@Jamie @PeterE

I see the same now: the blended group class Other makes the group and its underlying energy devices being counted double as energy consumers.

In group advanced settings (Detail), I changed the class from Other to Sensor to no avail.
In group advanced settings (About), the group is still classified as Other and that cannot be changed.

Do you have another way of adjusting this.
My alternative would be do delete the group, create an advanced virtual device for which I can set the class as Sensor instead of Other or I can set the numbers as a Sensor (not Energy sensor). But I was hoping you have a tip for groups?

As far as I am aware there is no way to stop the power from being tallied in code - I asked more then a couple of times for method to stop the group sending power but never got a reponce. That was a while ago it might be possible now but I had a Quick Look and didn’t see anything.

Perhaps try overriding the advance settings “power usage when on” value?

The device class wouldn’t make any difference so long as you include the power

Nice idea, but in the blended group I could not find “power usage when on” in advanced settings.
I did try setting the below to ignore, which could work but the Power value became stuck in the last value, and did not reset even with group app restart:

Related to this is energy, which I need to remain that way.

Same problem. Anyone have a solution?

And it looks like some devices are still selected but are not available.
I only need the five selected devices, no idea how 14 devices are selected.

Yeah @Rrrr that stops the value being updated in my code. Your looking for the default setting by Athom that sets the energy usage. - I thought it was there by default but I dont remember.

Your going to have to give more information @Peter_Hendrix - which devices show when you click advance settings?

Ok no problem.
I have a group with all the same devices, Zipato BULB 2. When I repair the group I (sometimes) miss 2 devices and add them, however they are not added.
I have created a short video op the phenomenon, you can view it at 20240522_052817000_iOS.mp4

It looks like a number of devices appear multiple times in the list.

I have several groups in my system.
After a homey reboot the first device in every group is not responding to a group command.

Example the group “ALL LIGHTS GARDEN”. There are several spots and LED strips in the group. When switching on or off the group. All devices respond accordingly.
After a homey reboot when switching the group all lights within the group respond EXECPT the first device in the group. That one is not witching on or off.
When trying to repair the group the device is selected in the group. So it is not leaving the group, just not responsive to group commands.

I have 6 groups installed. All 6 have the same behavior.
After a reboot (or update) the first assigned device in the group becomes not responsive.

Sorry - I’ve just learned about this awesome app - and since I struggle with doing something nice (syncron) with 7 lights (not Hue) - I found this to be a reaaaally awesome solution.

But I cant find the app? Is it simply called “Group” ?

Thanks for any help!

There’s a link in the first post in this thread. It’s only available for Homey Pro though, maybe that’s why you don’t see it.

Wondering if this app will help/work for a scenario where I wish 3 ZB Hue bulbs to be grouped along with a ZB wall switch (which is not connected/part of Hue bulbs) such that when the wall switch is turned on or off, it will also turn on the 3 Hue bulbs.

So far, with a little playing around, I cannot seem to get the connected behaviour of the switch such that when it is turned on/off, the bulbs are not turned on and off equally.

Is this something that should work, and if so, what of the many group methods should I use to achieve this?

Thanks

EDIT: I just wrote a flow that seems to have done the job fine. So not sure if that’s okay or if I’m missing some key thing that the < group > app might give me that I’m unable to achieve with just the flow

@gslender Thats actually the same use case I use the app for, I did it by creating a group for the three Hue lamps. Then creating a second “fused group” which includes the lights and the switch.

This will then allow the “switch” to override whats going on on the lights so you dont end up in that situation where the globes are turned off and when you turn on the switch your still standing in a dark room etc.

So to answer your question - check out the Fused group - down the bottom under advance groups.

Wow - Thanks…
I have no idea why I did not see that in the first place!!
Thanks a lot!!

Hi, i have 2 PV interters.
One SMA and one Solar edge.

i like to see the total live PV output power and the total KwH porduced today.
When using the group app it shows only the Solar edge power.
SMA and solar edge are combined in a new group device.
Is there a way to see what is going wrong?

THX!!!
