[APP][Pro] Eufy Security

It is crashing again…:’( back to live version i guess…

@Edgar the live version is also on version 3. So nothing to go back to

That looks like it, it happened yet again on the live version… :frowning:

It was stable since last time.

@Edgar did you check with athom as i suggested?

They don’t wanne do that. Allready asked.

Hmm, its really hard to say why it crashes.
Do you see any peaks in the memory usage of Eufy Security?

Its all the same as the last time we checked everything

@Edgar Only thing I know is that the app might crash if the memory is too high.
I’ll add the message to the app and let’s see if it hits that memory warning (source)

Hey Martijn! Would like to hear your comment on this: Why we're dropping this sponsor - YouTube

Hey @Ole_Rosset

Yes all Eufy notifications are cloud based. So the “exposed” images are just the thumbnails from the event.

So the images you get in Homey, those are the cloud images they’re talking about. So that means cover image and notification image.

The urls are indeed exposed to the internet, but only if you now the exact url.

Not sure about the deletion of the url though. I think it’s 24 hours

Ok, but accoring to the video, full resolution images are uploaded (with usernames) and it seems that people with the knowhow can view them and watch live feeds from the cameras and even pull passwords from API calls (4:20 and 4:31 in the video). I am no expert and to ble clear, I am not trying to criticise you or your app, but this, to me, sounds quite bad. Would this someone need access to the owners local network, their IP-address or just the eufy server address, in order to pull information/images/video like this? Don’t know, just curious.

@Ole_Rosset
What they sey about those images:

  • It’s about the AI Faces images (dual doorbell / Homebase 3)
  • Usernames → name of the AI Faces person

Not really, you still need to start a stream to view a live feed, and that streams lives only for 5 minutes until it’s down again.

Images. You might guess the image url, (not sure)

No I understand.
I never saw this as an issue as the images are attached to a notification. But it’s a risk indeed

no theres no link to the local network

Thanks for taking the time Martijn!

Hi Martijn,
Since 27-11, it appears that security mode switching is no longer being triggered. I see the mode change in the home device so it syncs correctly. But the flow (advanced) hasn’t been doing its thing since 27-11. Hasn’t changed anything. Can you replicate this too? Thanks for your time and support!
