[APP][Pro&Cloud] Shelly

Hello, I have a problem with my Shelly Pro 3EM energy meter that I have installed. The meter itself works fine, and Homey can read the values just fine. However I have the same issue as someone else previously had in this topic which is that the energy it measures it counted towards the House consumption in the Homey Energy insights, so it effectively looks like we use double the consumed energy.

It is often remarked that in the device ‘advanced’ you need to change a setting to not include it, however this advanced setting does not exist in my case, nor can i see it in the Energy views in the app. The exact same situation was discussed a few months ago in this topic, but the question had no clear resolution on the issue, it was marked as ‘will discuss in Slack’, but no idea where that slack group is?

Did anyone encounter the same with the Pro 3EM and what was the solution for this problem? I already tried removing and re-adding the device many times. Firmware of both Pro 3EM and Homey is at the latest. The app itself is at version 3.26.1, which appears the latest as well. It is a Homey Pro 2023, which i recently migrated to from a Homey 2016.

Hope someone else has the solution for this one?

It’s been discussed before indeed and I believe the person that asked the question previously did eventually solve it but without a clear path on how it was solved and how he/she did manage to show the options to exclude the readings from the totals. When I tried pairing a Pro 3EM myself the options did show immediately after pairing under the advanced settings of the device. So I dont know why it wouldnt show for you. Perhaps post a screenshot just to make sure you are looking in the right place.

I did actually asked Athom about the implementation in the app back then after the first report. Explained how I implemented the various capabilities of the Pro 3EM. Their response was that the device (in this case all three channels) should be marked as a cumulative energy device. And that is how it was already implemented. Nothing on these options not showing in their reaction though. I could bump that support question if needed.

Something else to try is to force set all channels as cumulative using the action card to do so. Perhaps that somehow triggers something.

Hi,

I experienced that my Shelly 1 turned itself off automatically. (the switch/relay).

This happened after I changed the Wifi network and updated the firmware.

It is important that this doesn’t happen anymore. Is there any properties for this to avoid it to automatically turn itself on/off?

I am talking about the relay; on/off, going out from the device.

Kind regards

Under the settings through the WebUI or the Shelly smartphone app you can configure the Power On Default Mode. When upgrading the firmware the device will reboot and use this value to determine what to do after a reboot. It’s unrelated to the Shelly app for Homey.

Suspect that the problem is not the Homey app, as has been suggested to you already. If the devices are reachable by the phone app they are reachable by Homey if you set them up as per instructions. Static IP. We had a power cut two weeks ago, when power came back on Homey was able to control my Shelly devices at least as fast as the Shelly app. So, your setup needs looked at and, in the forum, we are here to help

Thank you very much.

I will look through this again and see if the properties is correct.

Hello, I have a problem with my two Shelly Buttons (1). They often work without any problems (regardless of the click), but then Homey no longer responds to them. In the original Shelly app for Android, the signal from the buttons arrives correctly. I usually try restarting Homey 23, restarting the Homey Shelly app or re-integrating the buttons, but I haven’t found a way that works for sure yet. I also don’t know the cause. The buttons have fixed IP addresses. I would be very happy about help.

Version 3.26.1
The release also reduces the need for repairing by adding more logic to the device init process allowing to dynamically update capability options like renaming of capabilities.

Is this also for Homey Cloud or just Pro?

Try disabling the cloud connection on the button. If you have bad latency on your WiFi network the device might not be able to both send the status to the Shelly cloud and to Homey in the short time frame it wakes up after a button push. And since Shelly Cloud is prioritized over third party integration the connection might be closed before it updates Homey.

Perfect :man_dancing:

I still miss the ability to dim the white channel on the Shelly RGBW2. Other than that, I can confirm that renaming some capabilities works without repairing the device.

This is also fixed, nice job. :man_dancing:

When added as RGBW2 Color you can probably change the dim white level with the light temperature action card.

Hi @Phuturist,

Can you please clarify a couple of things regarding the Shelly BLU instructions:

What do you mean by the Bluetooth device driver? Some general BT-driver of Homey or just using add device → Shelly → Any Shelly Bluetooth Device?

Where should I check these Bluetooth settings, in Homey or in the Shelly Cloud App or the Shelly Pro/Plus device’s local web interface? Also, the instruction tells to check if Bluetooth is enabled and the BT gateway disabled. However it does not state how those settings should be configured. I.e. What exactly is meant by the “properly” in the “all changes are applied properly”.

Regarding the delays I mentioned previously, did you have a chance to build a test setup of your own? Are you experiencing such delays or are you getting the status updates nearly instantly to Homey?

Yes, device → Shelly → Any Shelly Bluetooth Device

Either Shelly Cloud App or the Shelly Pro/Plus device’s local web interface

I get about 5 questions a day, I dont remember each question but as far as I’m aware there are no open issues which need investigating. Delayed status updates usually mean there is something wrong with the setup. If you think otherwise please explain the issue.

Thnx. Can you still please elaborate this one:

It’s right there in the text already, Bluetooth needs to be enabled and the Bluetooth Gateway needs to be disabled.

Thanks. This might sound like I was smart-assing, but I am not. The instruction text does not tell the right settings. The text only states that I should
see if Bluetooth is enabled and Bluetooth Gateway is disabled. That is, I should check the status.
You might want to rephrase that. For example: “From the settings make sure that Bluetooth is enabled and Bluetooth Gateway is disabled “

Anyway, thanks for the quick responses. Much appreciated.

Me too, it has workt for some time but now the slider for the white is gone and with de temperaure setting in a flow does nothing.
(this is about de dimmer for the white channel).

I’ll see if I can check it this weekend.
