What version of the Homey Growatt app are you using?
New app version 2.3.0 is available for testing:
- Added support for all global regions
- Added more battery support
- Added DC Solar and AC Inverter capabilities
- Use AC value for Solar power
- Added support for the latest Homey Energy functionality ātarget_powerā
- Added translations for all Homey supported languages
- Code refactoring and stability improvements
This app version should now work for worldwide installations. I hope that users in the Americaās and Pacific regions can confirm this!
A significant change was introduced to the Inverter/Solar device. It now differentiates between DC and AC power of the solar panels. DC is the power your panels produce before converting to AC. Because your inverter introduces losses, your AC power will always be less. Furthermore, this app version makes use of the new Homey Energy functionality for limiting Solar power so you can stop or limit solar production when energy prices are negative.
IMPORTANT: If you added your Growatt devices in app version 1.x.x you will see messages that your device will not be supported anymore in the future. Version 2 of the Homey app is using a completely different interface to the Growatt cloud servers. While your existing devices will stay keep working in Homey, it is very much advised to add your devices again so you can start to make use of the new features. The new way of adding a device involves getting an api key from the Shine mobile app.
If during pairing you get no found devices it means something is wrong in the Growatt server database. You need to contact Growatt support to have that fixed. Alternatively a solution was found by @Paolo_Baccolo : [APP][PRO&CLOUD][OFFICIAL] Growatt - #203 by Paolo_Baccolo
Thanks! Nice update. Question ![]()
I see a slider that goes from 0-3000. Does this mean I can put a limit of produced power from 0-3000W max?
My inverter can produce up to 4000W. Why does above limiter not have 4000 as the max range?
Thanks
It should auto detect the max power of your inverter. What type of inverter do you have? Does it stay at 3000 after app restart? if so, you you could try changing the setting manually to 4000 in the device settings.
@Gruijter Growatt 4200MTL. The max. power is reported to be 4220W.
A restart doesnāt change it. The slider range remains 0-3000W.
Ok, will look into it. Growatt seems to report the max power differently per type ![]()
The issue will not reduce the maximum output of your inverter though. The value gets send to the Growatt api in %. So when you set the slider to max, the inverter will be set to 100%. The conversion to Watts is only needed for Homey Energy.
Nice app!
Iāve got 2 Growatt inverters, a MIC 1000TL-X and a Growatt 1000-S. The slider for the MIC was correct, the 1000-S slider has a maximum of 3000 Watt, I changed it to 1010 watt.
@Gruijter yes, I see that setting the slider works as you describe. (Relative to max power)
New version 2.3.1 is ready for testing: Growatt | Homey
- Fix pMax/chargeMax/dischargeMax fetching and settings override
- Fix translations
@Geim @Rudolf_van_der_Last Can you test the max power fetching by setting it to 0 in device settings?
I did. And it works now.
I set it 0 (zero), and it automatically fetched the right maximum power (4220W for my setup)
Thanks Robin
Yes, here idem dito. Works great!
Morning all. Unfortunately, since update 2.2.2. Iāve got the warning that my inverter was deprecated and was prompted to re-add it. I was doing that this morning but Iām not able to re-add it after logging in and providing my API key, no inverter is found whatsoever.
Iām currently on the latest version of the app: 2.3.1. Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks so much. I spent some time going back over it, but it was clearly not good enough. Iāll troubleshoot when I get home.
Now this app works so nice, I want to build a flow that limits my output.
(when I have excess power)
Not for now, but in the future when we might have to pay for power we deliver back.
Can you Robin (@RM_de_Gruijter ) or anybody tell how often I can use a command to adjust the maximum output power? Is there a limit on the amount of api-calls per day?
Thanks!
You can use that pretty often, maximum every 5 seconds. But getting the feedback into Homey (what the power actually is) is limited to once every 5 minutes.
