I thought it was possible because the app page is showing the flow cards. Growatt | Homey
Ah I see!
Only app dev Robin @Gruijter can comment on this I think.
Weird ![]()
Edit: a yes. That is a remnant of my vigourous attempts to get battery control integrated. But I never manager getting it working. Growatt api does not have a simple support for that. It involves getting and Setting many parameters in the right order, and working through a decision flow diagram that I never could comprehend..,.
Okay thanks, hopefully later you’ll find out how and get it working. One more question, when adding my apx battery I can see two batteries in homey. What is the difference between them? And which one is the one that I need to use in homey energy? Thanks ![]()
Add both and see which one is giving you the real data.
After updating the firmware of my Homey today (to 13.2.2) I got this message on my timeline:
Deprecated Growatt Inverter device(s) detected. Please remove these devices and re-add them.
I must admit that I haven’t visited the forum in quite a while, so maybe I missed the announcement…
It looks like this has to do with a change in the Growatt API. The “to be deprecated” device uses a password, but the newly added device uses an API token. Also it’s using a new server (“openapi.growatt.com”) that I was not aware of yet.
Questions:
- Where can I read more about this change (for this official Homey app)?
- Where can I read more about the Growatt API changes? (I use some scripts I wrote myself to store historical data and these still use a password)
- What does this mean for historical data / graphs in Homey? (Should I keep the deprecated device for that, like I’m still doing with the device of Diederik’s app that I used before?)

You can keep the existing device if you like
Hi all,
I’m quite new and don’t know if this is the right place but cannot find how to solve an issue I have. I had my growatt inverters working previously with this app. But I think since the update the API key is not working anymore when I want to add the inverters.
I keep seeing this picture below. While I use the correct login and api from the shine mobile app:
How can I fix this?
Can you describe the steps that you have taken?
Hi Leander,
It says you should wait for at least 5 minutes between each single attempt to login (more often attempts wil result in a temporary block).
→ Check your user name and API token for possible whitespaces and auto-first-letter-capitals.
(amongst other things this is to prevent bots an such from trying to log in to Growatt cloud by trial and error)
BTW To use the reconstructed app, I didn’t have to do anything but removing and adding the inverter again, using my Shinephone username and API token.
Hi Peter,
Yes I understand the principle behind it. I copy paste the api code. The 5 min notification appears immediately. Also after closing and retrying the messages of the 5 min will disappear, and the pop up will be blank.
The strange thing is that if I use the solar app in homey my inverters are visible immediately. See picture below:
I think I should spend some time and reset and re-add the dataloggers of the inverters.
I have:
3x Growatt Neo-800X - wifi
1x Growatt MIC3300TL-X
1x Growatt MOD 6000 TL3-XH BP
The Neo’s have integrated WiFi logging. But the 2 inverters have datalogger sticks.
Just a update from my side:
I made a fresh new account via the shine app. Deleted the data logger of 1 inverter and added it to the new account. Used the whole new account with corresponding api token and now it works for this single inverted. I will now migrate the rest to the new account and think this is the solution to fix the error I experienced.
Unfortunately the error is back when I added the second datalogger. Reported this to support of Growatt to check if they know a solution.
are there any other users having multi dataloggers or inverters connected via this app?
Hi Robin,
I’ve recently installed the Homey EMS app by @Kaoh and in that app you can add a Solar Forecast device and to my surprise my Growatt Inverters show up there to be added as a Forecast device.
I’ve asked Vincent which capabilities are actually looked at, I hope you can tell us which capabilities are actually used by your app.
Thanks!
Its the production today, ill make it not qualify with only this cap, make sure the tomorrow is there also, and inverters dont predict tomorrow ![]()
New version 2.3.2 is released as stable:
- Fix pairing large systems
- Fix device naming during pairing
- Fix spinner during pairing
- Stability improvements
This will mostly fix pairing issues for systems with multiple inverters under the same account.
Please remove these devices and re-add them.”
Wat houden deze meldingen in?
Ten eerste moet je zorgen dat Homey op de laatste stable firmware release is geüpdatet.
