[APP][Pro] Balboa

There is no local API for ControlMySpa. So local control is just not possible with that.

Yes it works fine

At least with my Homey Pro 2019

Listed under features is the ability to synchronize Homeys clock to Balboas clock.

Can’t find any card for it, is it maybe automatically done when refreshing data?

That is available only with the ControlMySpa devices.

Hi!

But, I’m running the ControlMySpa app on my iPhone to control my spa.

So I’ve got the correct device, and I’m connected to it.
Am I missing something?

/Johan

Ah, then if you look in the advanced settings from the device tile in Homey, you will find a setting for it.

FYI Found it, and it was already set.
But the clock was not automatically synced. I noticed because I blew a fuse at 4 in the morning when the ’Filtercykel 2’ was running, although it should have been run at 17:45 for 30 minutes. (The clock was not synced)

And, have a nice weekend!
Thanks

/Johan

It does take some time to detect that the time is out of sync. But yes it should set it within 30 minutes. Need to check that if something has changed in the API.

Hi again!

FYI
Checked a bit more closely today. The Balboa ControlMySpa app can connect and control my spa.
The homey app looks like it’s connected, but no values are updated and no controls are working.

(BTW, I heard a rumor that Balboa requires a subscription for allowing the controller of the spa outside the home WiFi, not sure if it has any impact on my problem or not)

/Johan

Cloud subscription applies only to the Balboa Wifi Adapter and not Control My Spa.

Aha, ok. Thanks

Any idea why my balboa app in homey does not update?

Most likely there is an issue with ControlMySpa service and your Spa can not be found there.

    data: {
      statusCode: 404,
      data: {},
message: 'There is no spa with provided ID.'
    }

New update in testing 2.5.0

Changes include
ADD: Balboa Wifi Adapter local control (BWA 50350)

Thanks for @Kjetil_Vert for adding the driver support for the local control with Balboa Wifi adapter. Note that it does not work with ControlMySpa.

This is a TEST version and may need some work to get it running smoothly.

Limitation: The Balboa Wifi Adapter allows only one active connection at a time. So while Homey is connected with the device, you can not use the BWA mobile app at the same time.

Well, thats strange. The app says it’s connected. And I logged in using the same credentials as used in the balboa app, which works just fine!

Try adding the device again. Don’t delete your current device yet.

Ok, tried it. → no success. User id or password are wrong.

But when I log in to ControlMySpa-app, I enter email-address and password,
the Homey app requests username and password.

/Johan

Ok, for your existing paired device. Open the device and go to settings / advanced settings. Check that login has your email address and set the password again.

Hi

Did login again in my existing app, no change, I get in, but no data are changed/updated.

/Johan

It is returning an error that the user is not found.
Can you login to Control My Spa | Balboa Water Group ?

Yes, using the same credentials I can log in to the ControlMySpa ios app.
