@martijnpoppen thx for the great app and the work you spend in troubleshooting. I’m experiencing problems in the status updates on the homey app when any change is made at the whirlpool or the balboa app. Sometimes the status (e.g. blower on/off) gets updated on the homey app, sometimes not (refresh is set to 60sec, even after some minutes the status does not get updated.) The other direction (homey app->balboa) works perfectly. Any ideas?
@Frank_H7 which driver do you use? CMS or BWA?
@martijnpoppen BWA. After some tests I can comfirm that ready/rest mode as well as lights on/off works bi-directional. Pump 1 & 2 and Blower Status is only transferred vom homey->BWA not the other way around
thx @martijnpoppen - hope the fix is not too tricky
Hello,
I am using Balboa BWA and cannot set the temperature above 37C. Spa is set to High temperature. How do I do it in Homey?
//Magnus
@Magnus_Sward not working and fix is still in progress see 2 posts above yours
Am I correct that this app connects through the cloud and not directly to the spa using wifi?
@Jan_Sparud that is correct!
Thanks. I have a (still private) app that I wrote a while back when this app didn’t support bwa that talks the wifi protocol (as described in balboa_worldwide_app/doc/protocol.md at main · ccutrer/balboa_worldwide_app · GitHub). It’s very simple, I just use it to turn off heating during very expensive hours or when I charge the car. I was thinking about submitting it to Homey but it seems your app cover the needs, unless there are SPAs for which the cloud connection is not working/suitable.
@Jan_Sparud I’ve seen the local communation before. However i didn’t want to implement that. I don’t own a spa myself so it’s really hard to maintain something like this which i can’t debug. Therefore I chose a cloud solution to prevent a lot of debugging/support
Hi,
I bought a BWA spa (New Joy Trend) in 2016 and also a wifi module.
I installed the app on a mobile device (Android) and it worked great locally and remotely (port 80).
Some years later I bought a new phone and upgraded the BWA app. After the upgrade, it is not possible to connect remotely any more, only locally.
My network was originally a Huawei mobile router and a local Linksys 2,4gHz router, but I have now installed a fiber network keeping the original Linksys 2,4gHz.
Still, I can only connect locally.
Same problem using Iphone or Ipad, but if I use my old phone with old BWA app, it works fine.
To be able to Connect remotely, I have now installed Homey Pro 2023 (v 12.2.1) (same network as the BWA).
I have added the Balboa app (v 2.2.13) and tried to add the BWA. I receive the information that a new item is found and information to choose the item below, but it is no item to Select. The following Message is shown below:
Cannot convert undefined or null to object.
I could see from the previous answer to Jan_Sparud that the BWA uses the cloud to connect, not connecting locally.
I suspect that it could be a problem with a character type in the password(*).
Do you have any suggestions to solve my problem?
Hey @Ivar_Dahl ![]()
Yes I saw before that a special charcacter in the password is not working with the BWA api
Would it be possible for you to change the password and check again ?
Thanks for the answer. I can not change the password at the moment, I need to reset the WIFI module inside the SPA. It is freezing cold and the spa is under the snow. I will inform you later.
@Ivar_Dahl oh you have a actual winter ![]()
Better than grey and rain everyday ![]()
Hi, I have changed the password after resetting the wifi module, but I still get the same answer “Cannot convert undefined or null to object”. What do you think? Still, the standard BWA does not work remotely.
@Ivar_Dahl please send a diagnostic report
Is it ok with this code: 7C5A7C13
@Ivar_Dahl no that’s the homey report for employees
You can send a report by going to the app itself in homey
