[APP] Philips Hue - Transform the way you experience light

OK, let’s trying and figure this out. What version of the Hue app are you using, the stable one or the Test version?
Is it the same lights that are causing the problem? It seems that Homey app no longer sees Hue lamps in Hue Zones but can still see Hue Rooms. I’ve had to change a few flows to account for this recently

It’s all the lights, it always worked flawlessly but the last 2 months it’s messy I’m getting the idea that homey can’t or won’t send the message to the hue bridge,
i was running the stable version but today i tested out the test version.

So give it a test

Is there a way to trigger the wakeup-sunrise effect through Homey?
I like the effect you can set in the Hue app, where the light gradually turns on as a sunrise effect over 30 minutes, and would like to start this automation / effect with flows …

The Hue phone app is receiving many updates and they seem to include dynamic scene activation. This may be possible, are you using the the version?

Hi, How can I add switches and motion detectors (accessories) to homey from the hue app? Using the web app.

The Hue app already supports switches and motion detectors.

If you mean that you’re using Homey Cloud, then it’s not possible to add those devices and it will probably never be possible.

If you mean that you have a Homey Pro and your devices are not supported by the Hue app: contact Athom to ask for device support, or add them via Matter.

Hi,

Anyone running the latest test version which includes api v.2?

Im interested in knowing if this version of app/api improves the 2 seconds polling delay for the hue indoor sensor

Switch over and use the Matter integration. that way there is no delay between Hue Bridge and Homey

That’s only possible if the user has a Homey Pro (Early 2023)

I do have the pro 2023
But the thought of all the flows needing to be reworked after deleting PH makes me want to look for alternatives! I read somewhere that Athom was working on removing the polling which is why i asked

Me, seems to have improved performance although Homey doesn’t always report whether a lamp is on or not

You don’t have to do delete the Hue app from your Homey. I use the Hue app still for trigger Hue Scenes as they are not accessible vie Matter.

All you need to replace in your flows are the motion sensors.

Looking at the code, it seems that the new app version now uses real-time events that are pushed from the Hue bridge to Homey (instead of Homey polling the bridge every few seconds).

aha! So basically all i leave the hue app as it is with my flows, add the hue bridge via matter and then only import the sensor and replace the sensor device in the flows to reflect the matter added one-ish?

@robertklep Perhaps i should try updating to 6.0.1 and see if it improves. Always looking for the simples solution hehe. Do you know if its possible to downgrade the app without too much hassle if it turns out to be unstable?

6.0.1 is labeled “test”, but there is also 6.0.0 without that label. However, I’m still on 5.9.3.

Did they not release 6.0.0?

Or is that only for the new (2023) Homey? (I have an older model)

The changelog just isn’t very clear: the current stable for all Homey Pro’s is 5.9.3, the current test is 6.0.1. I assume that the previous test was 6.0.0.

Running 6.0.1 with 11 hue devices and its working fine so far

I feel a noticable improvement to hue sensor triggering but might be placebo hehe. Once the new homey version hits with matter and thread radio activated i will link hue bridge via matter and run my sensor(s) through matter and the lights through the bridge app to retain scenes.

I have been using a Homey Pro (2019) for years, with which I am quite satisfied. However, two days ago Homey refused to turn off my two Hue lamps (via bridge). Homey claimed it couldn’t find the bridge (never happened before). However, the standard Hue Android app couldn’t find the bridge either.

I first reset the Hue Android app (unfortunately the app forced me to set up an account), after which at least the two Hue lamps could be controlled via the standard Android app again.

However, the Homey Hue app still refused service, so I deleted it and reinstalled it. The installation process seems to hang, but an app is being installed. However, I can’t do anything with that: an attempt to add my existing Hue lamps again resulted in a “can’t find anything” message.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a Philips Hue problem. Their customer service is very good if you reach out

The Philips Hue stuff works fine. It’s Homey that cannot contact the lamps…
