[APP] Aqara & Xiaomi Smart Home - Simplify your life with a smarter home

If devices aren’t detected at all, it’s a Homey (or device) issue, not an app issue.

Well, that’s unfortunate, considering the previous version hasn’t been sold for a few years now. Any info what’s the “problem” with the T1?

I don’t think there is a problem with that model itself; it just has not been added as a supported device to the app .

You could kindly ask the developer (@TedTolboom) whether he is planning to add support for the T1-version of the vibration sensor.

I tried to add the previous version but it doesn’t stay connected to homey at all. So I sent both back as a refund

That’s interesting. I have been using the non-T1 version for over one and a half year now on my Homey Pro 2023 and now 2026 and have not have any disconnects. Was your vibration sensor in sufficient range of either your Homey or another Zigbee router device in your home?

Yeah I’ve got a lot of ZigBee devices and it’s near the homey pro. It’s actually one of the only devices that i had trouble to connect in the first place. I had to keep it alive during pairing and it did work fine for like a few hours until it stopped permanently. Even after restart and new day

Maybe - in case you would purchase an Aqara sensor again - repairing (so via the device tile’s Maintenance > Try to repair-option) might help, as the sensor will reestablish a connection with a nearby router device. Keeping the device alive during this operation by pressing its pairing button every few seconds. In my experience (I have several Aqara battery powered sensors), keeping the device alive is always needed for the device to pair successfully.

I won’t be purchasing these or other Aqara products going forward. A product that’s been on the market for a year without proper support doesn’t give me confidence in the brand.

I also bought a new one. I have no problems with adding them but i cannot start mantainance actions… I read that more homey users have this problem.

Same here! Just got a new one in because the old ones engine died and now i cant use it… I managed to install them with the button like this:

This step is not necessary. The 3x button press is only needed to set the start point (closed position). When you then drag the curtain a little bit towards the open position, the curtain driver moves towards the fully open position, until it cannot go any further. It then saves the fully open point automatically, which it confirms by a beep. Just follow the manual .

Haha okay. The 3 times pressing worked

Afaik the manufacturer & brand, and this Homey app aren’t related.

The link at the top of this thread leads to the “Aqara” app page, and its got an “official” badge.

According to Homey, official apps are:

  • Developed and maintained by the brand or a dedicated software company. These apps have a formal commitment behind them.

  • Quality-checked by Homey’s QA team. They’re extensively tested so they meet higher reliability and performance standards.

  • Regular updates and maintenance are expected. This helps ensure compatibility over time and a polished user experience.

The relationship exists either directly or, as appears to be the case here, through Aqara contracting the app’s development.

Repairing it makes no difference, you cannot access anything in maintenance menu therefore redering any E1 controlloer useless with Homey Pro. I reached out to Homey Pro and they say it is down to developer who appears to not be responding to anyones request

My post you are quoting was a response to the post above mine. That was not related to the curtain driver. I am having the same issue as you have with my curtain drivers. The developer is aware and he indicated that a fix is expected in a next version of the Aqara app. In the mean time you an also perfom the maintenance functions via the button on the curtain driver. Check the manual for more info.

Tried this and only seem to be able to configure the left curtain of a pair as the right one repeated wants to be open when you select closed and and closed when you select open, without App, I can’t seem to configure for opposite direction - any thoughts?

Sorry, i had meant re-pairing, typo. They work fine using manual config except one is wrong direction and cannot see, to get it to recogonise this and reverse direction for open/close.

ok, so tried a few times with a reset and 3rd time lucky, seems to work now, thanks for heads up. Still be good to get the App fixed for ease of use.

Cheers
