I bought my Homey Pro (2023) last monday with discount. I made a backup of my Homey Pro (2019) and everything works fine exept all my Aqara devices.
I have the old Aqara doorsensors and temperture meter. I have problems to add them. My Homey Pro 2025 can’t see them. I can add them as P1 meters with difficulty but they arn’t P1. So data isnt read proppely. I tried to add the device to my old homey pro and that works just fine.
What can i do to add them? Remove the old Homey? Or does the new Homey not support the old Aqara devices?
I have the new homey pro plugged in in my bedroom. if i’m pairing I’m standing next to the Homey Pro. I also have 4 Philips Hue lights paired with my Philips Hue brige wich is connected to my Homey
The Hue bridge has its own completely separate Zigbee network, so that’s not relevant.
Pairing next to Homey normally isn’t recommended, but it’s good enough for testing.
I assume the LED’s on the sensors start blinking when you put them in pairing mode? And what happens then, exactly? Also, is your old Homey still powered on? If so, try taking it off power completely.
Do you have other Zigbee devices that do work with the new Homey? (again, not the Hue devices, since those aren’t present in Homey’s Zigbee network)
I’m having the same issues. Migrating from Early 2019 and Aqara devices won’t repair. I have chosen to re-add each device, which is a lot of work. All of a sudden it refuses to add new devices. I have restarted the app and the Homey Pro.
I am on channel 25, no clue which channel my 2019 Homey was. It is offline and i’m not sure if it’s ‘safe’ to turn it on to prevent more mix-up.
Do i need to know what the ‘old’ channel was?
Can i change this channel number somewhere in Developer (aware of again resetting all devices)?
Do i need a powered device with Homey Pro? I only have battery powered devices since 2019 and never have had any issues.
It worked after trying 30 times. What I did differently this time was that, while pairing (holding down one of the buttons), I operated a previously added switch (controlling the curtains) with the idea of ‘waking things up’.
It’s probably complete nonsense, but after 29 unsuccessful attempts it felt a bit too coincidental.
What may be a factor for the battery powered device: Those tend to enter sleep mode after a few seconds. As such, it may go to sleep while (re-)pairing. To prevent this, press the pairing button every few secs during the pairing/repair proces. This will keep the device alive.
Yeah you probably won’t want to try the effect
To be sure, I’d start it out of range of any device.
One thingy, you’ll have to start the Pro 2019 in recovery mode and connect it to the wifi of the other location.
Easier way:
With zigbee on ch.25, just change your wifi 2.4GHz channel to preferrably 1, or second best, to 6, to stay away from interference as much as possible.
Thank you for this insight! I’ve managed to re-add all my devices with the ‘trick‘ of simultaneously activating existing devices during the pairing process of a new device when the first attempts of ‘regular pairing’ fails.
These workarounds still got me by surprise after 6 years of using Homey
