[APP][Pro] Meross - Simple Devices, Simplify Your Life

Meross - Simple Devices, Simplify Your Life.

Hi everyone, this is the central topic for questions/discussing the Meross App. You can use this topic to ask questions and share your experiences with the devices from Meross.

It currently supports all Matter-enabled Meross devices, along with a selection of devices through the node-meross-sdk library. Support for additional devices via the Meross Cloud API (OAuth), including Homey Cloud support, is planned for the future.

Disclaimer: I developed this app in collaboration with the Meross team. It’s a side project I work on in my spare time, alongside my role as Head of Partnerships at Athom.

FAQ

On which Homey models can this app be used?

Matter-enabled devices are supported on Homey Pro (Early 2023), Homey Pro (2026), Homey Pro mini, and Homey Self-Hosted Server. To connect Matter-over-Thread devices to Homey Self-Hosted Server, a Thread Border Router is required.

Non-Matter devices are supported on all Homey models running firmware v13.0.0 or later.

How can I add a device?

For Matter devices, select the appropriate device from the pairing list and follow the on-screen instructions.

Non-Matter devices are organized into categories, such as Smart Plugs, Smart Switches, and Smart Surge Protectors, just as they are in the Meross mobile app. Select the appropriate category and sign in to your Meross account. All supported devices in that category will then be listed and ready to add.

How does Homey communicate with the Meross devices?

Matter devices communicate using either Matter over Wi-Fi or Matter over Thread, depending on the device.

For non-Matter devices, Meross Cloud is used to sign in and retrieve your device list. Afterward, commands are sent over your local network whenever Homey can reach the device directly. Status updates may still be delivered through the cloud via MQTT.

Check Protocol in the device settings: HTTP means commands are sent locally, while MQTT means they are sent through the cloud..

Great! Looking forward to the MSG100 garage door opener. Any chance for the MSS210?

Thank you, I will wait for support of the smart thermostat MTS200HK

My thermostats seem to be called MTS200B. It would be fantastic if they were supported.

Hello,

would be lovely to add support for MSS620 smart outdoor plug.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @Doekse Is there already an approximate timeline or a planned date when the MSG 100 Smart Garage Door Opener will be integrated?

Thank you for the answer

@Benwia , @Doekse mentioned earlier ( Meross App Support - #244 by Doekse ):

To recap: Homey is developing the official integration, while Meross provides the APIs and documentation needed to make it possible

@Doekse Hi,

I have the MSS315 directly added via Matter. so what are the benefits of this app for these devices?

The app gives you pairing instructions that fit the product and a custom icon once the device is added

Thx. I will give it a try

Did some testing last night and got OAuth working! :tada:

I’ve also ordered samples of the garage openers, so I’ll start integrating them as soon as they arrive.

Still debating whether I should also implement the non-OAuth cloud API for now, since only the garage door openers are supported at the moment. I’ll need to check how much work that would take. For Homey Pro, I’d prefer to use the devices’ local MQTT implementation instead.

I have a Meross MS600 (Smart Presence Sensor) and I wasn’t able to connect it directly to Homey via Matter. I had to do it through iOS instead. I don’t know what this option implies or why the Homey connection doesn’t work.

Thx.

Would be awesome to get support for the MFC100 fan switch and MSS510 switch as well!

Looking to buy garage door opener, as I have 3 garage doors, i would prefer Meross MSG200, also listed in Homey best buy guides, but quick look at Homey forums it is not clear if currently works with Homey Pro or not. So, whats the situation?

Curently I have set garage door with Shelly 1 Gen4, it works, but cant set device indicator to show Shelly 1 input state, thats no go for me - to see status of the doors at any time in an Homey app is a must! Any solution for that?

Alternative solution while we wait for the app to launch

I’ve been using a Meross MSG100 door opener for years and, on top of that, an Eve Door/Window Sensor on the same door. In my setup both devices are only available through HomeKit, but functionality will be identical in Homey.

Since you already have a Shelly unit controlling the door, my recommendation is simple: add contact sensors to your system. The sensor data can feed into Homey as a reliable source of truth, and you can replace the door controller once the new Meross app is ready.

Added bonus: I’ve seen the MSG100 report “Closed” even when the door was still slightly ajar. The Eve sensor will correctly show “Open” in those cases.

Just received and installed the MSG100. Works perfect with homey. Just tested it a couple of times

I use the MSG100 garage door opener in both Homey and HomeKit for almost a year now, without any problems.

For Homey I ‘ve created a favorite flow so I can open & close the garage door from my Apple Watch.

I’ve linked the MSG100 to HomeKit so I have a button to open / close on my Apple Carplay screen. And that is really cool: when I’m about 100m from home, a open / close button automatically appears om my Carplay screen.
Second option is to let Siri open the garage door.

Is support for the MSH300HK (smoke alarm hub) planned? Thanks

I was happy to see the official Meross app added, but my joy was short-lived… it only supports Matter devices. I think most people who have been complaining about the lack of support for a long time don’t actually own the Matter version of the devices. And nothing will be done about it. It’s a mix of joy and disappointment, because I don’t think this was the intended outcome.

As mentioned in the first thread, that’s currently being worked on. The main limiting factor right now is the range of devices Meross supports through their API.

I’m also looking into adding LAN connectivity, though that will only work on Homey Pro, not on Homey Cloud.
