What does the “active” symbol mean?
I have a room which is always “active”
That means one or more of your devices is constant active.
Maybe you should remove the devices that are not gray from your zone.
But, only if you want to use zone activity.
Only alarm devices like motion and contact sensors.
It doesn’t make sense?
Look at the two rooms in the screenshot;
In the first room, there are 2 devices that are “not gray” (this room is not active).
In the second room, there are a IR-sensor (same version as in the first room), that are “not gray” and this room is active.
Motion and contact sensors are never gray. Gray devices are devices you a switch on by clicking on the tile, e.g. lamps.
Start with a refresh of your screen, by switching from devices to flows and back to devices. Then start assigning devices from the active zone to another zone. This way you will find the device which keeps the zone active.
An active zone is a zone where activity has been detected, for example with a motion sensor.
@Par_Ostberg, it’s possible to activate a status indication of motion and window/door sensors in the device settings (long tap on the device tile → → status indicator).
If the status indicator is set to “Motion alarm” resp. “Contact alarm”, you have an additional visual indication of which sensor is currently active or not:
In the case of a motion sensor, whether movement has been detected or not. For a door/window sensor, whether the door/window is open or closed.
If those sensors not excluded for “Zone Activity”, which is also possible, than you can see which sensor is responsible for the aktiv zone.
I removed every device, still there was a active symbol for the zone. Then I removed the zone and added a new new zone with the same name and the problem was gone
Instead of removing the device, I hope you just moved those devices into an other zone.
After removing/moving the devices, have you refreshed the Web App and/or the Homey Smartphone App?
If you did that and the zone was still active (without devices), then it could be a bug that you should report to Athom.
At least some of motion sensors have also “Zone acticity / Exclude from Zone activity” option in config. (i) “Prevent this device from making a Zone active.”
Yes, sorry. I moved all devices to another zone. However the zone was still active. However, it was solved by creating a new zone.
I am having a similar problem. I am in dialogue with Homey Support.
My issue started, I think, when I removed a wall with a door in my house. That door had a magnet sensor. Since the door was removed, and two zones now became one, I deleted one of the zones.
I guess the zone I removed was active when I deleted it, so now the parent zone never goes inactive.
I have been instructed to try various things like rebooting (of course), manual upgrading firmware trough cable, deleting “dead” Z-wave nodes, and restoring from backup (not tried yet). Nothing have worked so far.
This is, in my mind, either way a bug in Homey, since all my present child zones are inactive, and only the parent stays acitve.
I will try the approach of moving zones and or devices out of the active zone and rebuild it.
And that did the trick for me as well! Thanks for the tip @Par_Ostberg
I just created a new zone, moved all sub-zones over and then deleted the old one. Problem solved.
