Maybe it would be a good idea to put up a support page that lists the brands that are currently supported? Or add this information to the corresponding app?
Once the feature goes out of beta weâll do a proper announcement together with all the supported brands
@Doekse This is great and long awaited. Two questions:
-
Do you have any news regarding Fibaro?
-
It would be great if there was functionality where one could upload general firmware files to general devices, so that if I have an old zwave/zigbee device whoâs manufacturer might not exist anymore and I have managed to find an old firmware file that I want to update it with, that I am still able to do so. Many times this will stop old devices from becoming electronic waste, and I can think that this is inline with the energy/environmental policy that Athom is promoting. Will you implement this?
How is OTA handled for Tado X devices? I only have a Homey Pro 2023, and no other hubs, an I have been receiving firmware updates since I got my first Tado X Radiator Thermostat at least a year ago.
tado X uses Matter, although Iâm not sure if they offer OTA updates through the standardized CSA channels.
Do you have a Tado app installed on your device (phone).
Last update for TadoX TRVâs was OTA updated very recent (a month ago) to 298.1.

Since Fibaro is transitioning into Nice, we havenât received a definitive roadmap or plan yet. Iâll check with my contacts to see if we can get access to the Fibaro OTA files as well, good suggestion.

For now, weâve decided to offer OTA updates exclusively through Homey apps. The main reason is that we need to be able to support users when things go wrong, and thatâs difficult if users can manually flash incorrect firmware onto their devices. While we could add a large disclaimer, weâve chosen not to go down that route at this stage.
That said, weâre absolutely keen to support as many devices and brands as possible. If there are any specific brands youâd like to see supported, feel free to let us know and weâll do our best to get the required OTA files and add support.
If you have a Raspberry Pi and a Zigbee dongle, you can install eWeLink CUBE on your Raspberry Pi and update your Sonoff devices for free
TY!
But isnât that same as updating via HA?
I.e. disconnect from Homey, connect in HA, update, disconnect in HA and finally reconnect in Homey?
That I tried few times but barely worth the effortâŚ
I donât know, I donât use HA. But eWeLink is of course an official method, so CUBE is likely more reliable with updating Sonoff devices
Yes you do need to disconnect and reconnect to CUBE
Tado uses the Tado internetbridge and all your devices get updated via that bridge, so that wonât work via Homey.
Well, I donât have a Tado bridge, only a couple of thermostats and they all are receiving updates. So they are somehow able to update without neither a bridge nor through the OTA support in Tado.
Donât ever buy the bridge.
It creates itâs own Thread network which doesnât support Matter Multi-Admin
Just use V3 bridge with V3+ thermostat, Matter is very unstable (you can find many topics here about issues with Matter), and very resource intensive (the reason why it doesnât work on my Pro 2019). The V3 system also uses the cloud, which I prefer over local communication (for network security and redundancy reasons I prefer to run as much devices via the cloud)
Cloud devices work fine, until the company goes under or changes their business model.
Did the update fix the reliability of the Myggspray sensors? I tried three of them just after they came out but returned all of them.
I tried to update one earlier today
It failed twice.
I managed to update my MYGGSPRAY to 1.4.0 after many (really many) failures.
Took it inside, removed battery, re-inserted battery really close to Homey (~50cm/2ft), started update and the update completed after loooong time.
How about robbsmart from robbshop after askingbthen they told they would provide the files when ota would be available
What about KlikaanKlikuit /Trust Zigbee? Do they have OTA files?
