ZigBee and Z-Wave OTA updates are coming!

Good one, will ask!

I’ll also ask them

Elko and Eva. They are prominent on the Scandinavian marked

Just updated two IKEA Alpstuga devices to their latest firmware (1.0.26, released today) without any issue.

How about Nimly (smart lock)?

Any chance to be able to update it?

Very happy with this upgrade and possibility to update my devices!

Two updated today

I’ll keep an eye on performance

is there a location where we can see the brands that supply OTA update and for what devices, and what the most recent versions are?

I think that would be nice to know so you can also take that into account when you choose your new devices or brand.

See the reply from Doekse (Homey employee) “Once the feature goes out of beta we’ll do a proper announcement together with all the supported brands”

Yes i read it and i know who he is, but what in am saying is that if there is a list with actively supported brands an devices it will help me to decide what device i will buy.

If i have the choice between 2 devices and one supports OTA i will choose the OTA

And as @Rudolf_van_der_Last mentioned, that’s being worked on

OTA works great for my IKEA matter devices. I’ve updated without problems:

  • Kayplatz light
  • Alpstuga CO2 sensor
  • MyggBett door sensor.

The last one is a battery powered sensor, and updated from 0-100% without interruptions. I only had to activate the sensor once by opening the door, from there it went straight to 100%. After reading the trouble here, that was a surprise (pleasant one)

A button to update all would be welcome

Where can I download the beta?

Enable experimental updates here:

No need for that . The OTA feature is included in the current live mobile app and Homey OS firmware:

But @Benvo asked how to enable beta updates?

Well…he was referring to Abe’s comment that referred to the OTA feature. Apparently Athom considers this feature still to be in beta, though it is included in the current live versions of the mobile app and Homey OS :man_shrugging:. So no need to enable the experimental feature.
