Hello everyone!
I would like to automate my underfloor heating manifold with motorized valves, but I haven’t purchased any hardware yet.
Could you please advise me:
-
Which type/brand of motorized valves should I choose that work well with Homey Pro?
-
What kind of controller is recommended for managing these valves?
-
Which Homey app(s) can I use for integration and control?
My goal is to build a reliable system with zone-based heating control. Any tips, brand suggestions or setup examples are very welcome!
Thank you in advance for your help!
Arnold

Thank you, Andy! I’ve read your comment. I’d like to ask for more concrete advice: could you recommend a specific motorized valve manufacturer, a relay or smart plug brand, and how best to control it with Homey — whether through the app or using Advanced Flow?
The motorised valve does not need to interface to Homey. Instead, you need to control the power going to the motorised valve. If you don’t already have a motorised valve fitted in your system, you should consult a plumber who will be able to advise on a suitable product and fit it for you.
There are loads devices, compatible with Homey, that can turn power on and off. There are some listed here.
To control the system you’ll need one or more thermostats. There are some recommendations here. FWIW, I’d add the Switchbot one, but that makes sense only if you have already invested in a Switchbot hub.
You’ll then need a flow to activate the power to the motorised valve based on temperature and time of day. If you search the Homey app store for “thermostat”, there are apps that appear to be designed to help you manage that process.
FWIW, you might be able to replace your existing heating controller with a smart one. I’ve no experience of doing that for an underfloor system, but I managed to replace the programmer for my radiator-based system with a smart hub and smart TRVs from Wiser Heat.
