Hello,
I am trying to monitor my gas and water consumption.
I don’t want to to mount different hardware together. I am looking for an working solution which can be integrated in homey.
It should be possible to buy and use it in Germany.
Thanks for your help.
Hi @Michael_Zimmer ,
I don’t think such device exists. Your smart meter and water meter are different devices I assume, right? So, consequently, how do you think one single device can take input from 2 data sources at the same time?
Roger
This device can work with led-pulse power meters, and a S0 pulse water meter simultaneously:
https://stromzähler.eu/datenlogger-und-zubehoer/datenlogger-und-energiemonitore/74/youless-ls120
And it has a Homey app for that use too
Totally not what you’re asking for, but just to give you some ideas:
Not a German company and not 1 device that does all in 1, but also works for NOT smart meters without P1 like my situation.
They can ship to Germany according their website.
- I use the LS120 for the energy meter (not in your request, but ok)
- I use Make your water meter smart - SmartGateways.nl for the water meter
- I use Make your gas meter smart - SmartGateways.nl for the gas meter
So in this configuration you need to install 2 or 3 different pieces of hardware, all powered by USB with a direct connection to Homey.
For the power to those devices I bought an Anker Powerport (Amazon.de) for a stable power supply so you do not need 3 power outlets for the 3 different USB chargers. I also power a few other USB powered things in that closet so this was the cleanest solution in my eyes.
For the rest, good luck with your quest.
Hi,
it can be two devices (one for gas and one for water) but from one vendor and it should be a proved and tested solution.
Have your looked at Home Wizard solution? P1 meter measures gas and electricity and they also have watermeter, all compatible with Homey. I don’t use gas here, but all other devices work flawlessly with and without Homey.
P1 meter are not compatible with the water and gas meter in Germany.
I am using IQ Gas Guard now.
It is working in Germany but no connection to homey at the moment.
Has anybody planned to create an app for homey?
This is not the right place to ask if someone is willing to program an app. Also, your request is limited to just a few users in this topic.
Please use the following options:
[Requests] Homey Pro Community App Requests
Request a Brand | Homey
However, I did some research on the Internet and found in the FAQs that all iQ energyGuard devices can be read out using the MQTT protocol.
This requires the MQTT Broker and MQTT Client apps. Alternatively, the MQTT Server app can also be used without any further apps, but I had some poor experiences with this app when too many MQTT topics (data) were received.
