Volvo On Call - is this app still alive?

I saw this app appear and was wondering if this app still works?

I have a Volvo XC60 MY23 with a Volvo ID and after installing the app on my Homey pro 2016 I only see a screen where I can select my region.

The latest changelog says:

Removed the Volvo On Call device type. Volvo has closed down the inofficial API and the device is no longer functional. Added support for Homey Energy for electric cars.

So my question is:

  • Does de app still working (with an other API)?

  • How do I log-in in the app?

Yes its very much alive, you can check the specific volvo on call thread.

This update is about an old outdated volvo API.
Volvo changed to a new API, but the old one was still alive and supported by the App for users that did not transfer yet.
Volvo has clodsed it down, so its removed from the homey app too

The app is now only supporting the new interface.

Instructions are given at the start of the thread mentioned above

It would be very valuable if a reference is given HOW to log in to the “Homey VoC app”. With a link to a thread where some things are discussed off-topic about an old API that no longer works, you help someone more “from the frying pan into the fire”.

I have completely browsed through the complete discussion, more than 45 minutes later, and I still don’t know how to log in. I have chosen Homey because this device was more user-friendly than Home Assist but …

It is described in the 1st sentences of that thread

If you can tell us which steps you did and where you got stuck we can help you

Steps to follow:

Did you setup the volvo side?
1 do you have a volvo account?
2 do you have a VCC API key for your volvo?

Then you are ready to start on homey

1 install the app (you already did)
2 setting to europe (you did)

Now add your car in homey just as described above
3 create a device and choose the volvo app
4 fill your volvoaccount username and password and VCC API key in the popup

5 check your email for the 6digit code
6 fill the code in the popup

That’s it

Thnx, it works, but it wasn’t easy. Your last post was a good guide for me. To create a VCC API-key I used the manual of Daniel Roos.

Please note, change V1 into V2 here of the mentioned URL.

And it wasn’t immediately clear to me that the VOC app in Homey is the interface and that you have to create a vehicle as a device. (which makes sense :+1:)

I think this thread provides enough support for others and as far as I’m concerned it can be locked.

There is also a thread on this forum about the API.
