Using remote control to trigger a flow

Hi I’m new to Homey coming from Sonoff Ihost. I want to use an 8 button sonoff remote to trigger a flow. I can clone the remote keys with no problem but cant assign a flow to the keys? The remote control does not have any actual functions built in it just announces which button has been pressed. You then assign a function to it. This works perfectly with the sonoff Ihost but I’m not able to work out how to do it with Homey.

Is it possible using a Homey pro 2023?

I would appreciate any help.

Ken

The Sonoff app for Homey can use the RF buttons (choose RF-button when adding a device)

Hi and thanks for your suggestion. I’ve tried it as suggested but no luck. Homey asks to connect to remote but the sonoff RM4332R2 has no pairing option. It simply sends out a key identification and nothing else.

What I need to do is ‘listen’ for a key that has been pressed and run the appropriate flow. This works perfectly when running the sonoff software on IHost . With sonoff you have to press each button to register the key and then attach a scene to it.

I’m either missing something with Homey or having a mind fart!

Anything else you can suggest I try.

Ken.

I forgot to say that the remote control has no actual ‘commands’ built in it just sends out the button identification and you respond to that.

Thanks again

You need to press the button on the remote when you add the RF button device, and then you can use the button press as a Flow trigger.

Hi….

I have cloned each button on the remote control and created the device with no problems. The buttons have no commands or actions associated w3ith them. What I need now is to associate a flow to each button. When I select to make a flow I select the When… +Add Card I navigate to where the cloned 433 MHz device is but it is not displayed? The device does exist but I am unable to set a flow. I have done this many times with Sonoff IHost with no problems. There must surely be a method to react to a remote control keypress!

I must be missing something obvious.

Any help, suggestions or tips, is appreciated.

Ken.

You should add the device and while adding, select the “Copy from remote“ button.

Then you should press the button on the remote and you’ll have this Flow trigger “RF received“:

I’m possibly not explaining what I want and what is going on.

The remote control ONLY sends out its identity. It does not have any actual commands internally. What I need is for me to press a button and Homey will get the button identity and run the required flow associated with it. I don’t want to train the remote control at all… just to send out what button has been pressed and operate a flow. Homey can see the remote control and assign it a name Button 1 etc etc so and the button will be listed within the 433MHz device.

Maybe Homey cannot do this?

Thanks for now. Ken

You have to train Homey on doing something when receiving the 433 signal.
