Upgrading router - avoid 5Hgz issues

Next week I am upgrading my router, replacing the currently used Netgear Nighthawk R7000 with an Asus ZenWiFi AC (CT8) mesh set.

Currently I have seperate SSID’s for both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Homey uses the 2.4 GHz SSID.

In my new setup (one router and two extra nodes) I want to use 1 SSID, as I believe this makes the most sense with a mesh system.

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of setup? Will Homey see and connect to the new router on the 2.4 GHz band?

Thanks!

I never had a issue with a 2.4 and 5ghz router / accesspoint and a lot of homeys and accesspoints came thru my hands …
I guess it’s more a user error then not being compatible . Like turning off broadcast traffic or cast to lan or whatever option those home user accesspoint can have

Thanks @MarcoRuiter guess I am looking for some extra confirmation

I’ve got a TP-link mesh network with 3 Deco M5’s on 2,4 and 5ghz with 1 SSID for 3 months now, no problems with Homey at all. Never lost connection, no interference, working perfectly

I’m using also TP-link three M9’s and two M5’s
I use them for over a year now.
At first there where some issues but they’ve solved them for some time now.
