Unwanted crosstalk between the Aqara Smart Plug (EU) and the Sonoff SNZB-01P

The Aquare Smart Plug is being turned on by the Sonoff SNZB-01P even though no flow has been created for it. The SNZB-01P is switching on an Orcon mechanical ventilation unit managed by Home Assistant via the Sonoff community app. This connection is working fine.
An annoying side effect is that one, sometimes more Aquara Smart Plugs are also being switched on.

I’ve already removed the plugs and the Sonoff SNZB-01P from Homey Pro 2023 several times and reinstalled them, but unfortunately, that has had no effect. Apparently, the Aquare’s Device ID remains linked to the Sonoff SNZB-01P.

Has anyone experienced similar issues in the past and found a solution? Please reply to this post.

That’s no crosstalk, but it’s a ‘service’ called binding, manufacturers thought you’d like.

As example: imagine you buy a brand Y zigbee remote and a brand Y zigbee light; how nice it is when the light can be controlled by the remote only by powering up the light. Just like that.

Of course they expect it to be limited to their own devices, but apparently both Aqara and Sonoff use the same zigbee binding ID →
which, combined with Homey as their zigbee controller, can cause the effect you noticed.

I expect it’s possible to undo the binding at the developer site:

The Aqara Smart Plug is very famous for cross talk and the only option you have is to downgrade the firmware (which you can’t do via Homey directly) or get rid of it. And since new plugs from Ikea are around 10€ I would strongly recommend to just get rid of it speaking from experience.’’

EDIT: see here for example Unwanted crosstalk Aqara Smart Plug (EU) and IKEA Tradfri devices and here IKEA AQARA interferences

They are likely linked via Touchlink, reset both devices by holding their reset button and don’t pair the devices too close to eachother.
