Aqara Smart Plug (US) Compatibility

I couldn’t find another topic on it, so wanted to post for others searching later. The Aqara Smart Plug (US) ( Aqara Zigbee Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring,Overload Protection,Scheduling and Voice Control, 15A Outlet Compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit Compatible - Amazon.com ) does work with Homey directly when using the Aqara APP and Homey Pro alone. The Aqara Hub is NOT required (Although I would assume works still if you already have both Homey and Aqara Hubs)

You’ll select Aqara as the brand when adding a device in the Homey app and then choose the plug in the list. You’ll be prompted to hold the power button down on the plug for a few seconds until a red and blinking blue light happen and it will be added fairly seamlessly.

Hope this helps someone searching, cheers.

Thanks for this info. I added 3 plugs straight to Homey with the app and it worked perfectly.

So, I have been having a hell of a time getting these to pair to my Homey Pro (2023) This is the first post I have comes across that even mentioned an issue.

I am still having issues even if I use the app or the Homey via local connection or cloud.

Any further advise?

It should pair and function without any app.
Use the “Technologies > zigbee” option when adding the device

and you might need to keep the sockets close to Homey, or close to a zigbee router in your zigbee mesh network (almost any mains powered zigbee device acts as zigbee router)

Also check for interference with 2.4GHz wifi signals and adjust the channels accordingly.
Wifi 2.4GHz signals can frustrate zigbee signals 'cause they’re 10x stronger in general.

Make sure to set the 2.4GHz channel to preferrably 1 or 6 or 11;
Next, perform a zigbee reset with Homey, it will choose the best zigbee channel automatically.
→ you’ll need to repair or re-pair currently connected zigbee devices ←
