Pretty sure the issue is on Google Home side. I was able to remove the connection, but I cannot add it anymore.
I just tried to add it to a Google account and there it just works fine.
Disable the phones’ wifi, Rudi, and try again using 5G mobile network.
Just to be on the safe side:
Now I get a screen that has a link showing that I can return to the app. The link doesn’t do anything and Homey is not added
Same thing happens without WiFi
Tried another device (tablet). That first seemed to work and now it states “No compatible devices in Homey account”
Reset my entire home network. Still nothing.
Any other ideas?
Just checked my Google account online and there Homey was still listed as works with Google service. Removed it , but still not able to add it again.
The same goes for all other services that I try to relink. So it is definitely an issue with my Google account
After some fiddling I was able to relink Google Home and Homey. I still think this is on Google Home’s end.
However, if I go into the Google Home app it shows something like this:
In this picture “Keuken” is directly linked via the Google account and the bottom “Keuken” is linked through Homey and not controllable.
The same goes for “Koffiezetapparaat”. It is one smart plug and the top item is connected through Tuya and I can control it. The bottom “Koffiezetapparaat” is linked through Homey and cannot be controlled.
And if I want to toggle the switch in the Homey app to Synchronise with Google it still states that I need to link the accounts.
Tried to disconnect Homey from this screen and even disconnecting the service errors out stating it cannot reach Homey.
However it is removed here:
Edit: After hitting “Homey ontkoppelen” the device is still visible as offline in Google Home, but now “Homey Ontkoppelen” is greyed out
I think I am going to create a ticket with Athom, because this issue seems to be more of a side effect of my Homey not being connected to WiFi/internet all the time.
Let’s cut a very long story waaaaay shorter: it seems to be working. Basically my Google Home was a mess and it had all sorts of old devices that were synced from my Homey at some point but weren’t even there anymore. I have unlinked Homey and Google Home on all Google accounts of all family members. Then I threw my daughter and son out of the Google Home house. And then things worked again. After that I only linked Google Home and Homey from my account and added the kids as members rather than admins.
The only thing I still cannot do is toggle the switch “Synchroniseren met Google” on the Homey app. However, it seems that I can control Homey devices using my voice. Most likely this is due to the fact that I am using Gemini on the phone.
