Hello,
I’ve got a Homey Pro and I want to link it to Google Home to use google assistant from my phone to control it.
Unfortunately it just doesn’t work.
I installed the Google Home android app, created a new home, added a new third party device selecting Homey as brand, logged in with my account and allowed Google to access my Homey information and my Homey Pro and immediately after I just get an error saying that it is impossible to add Homey and to try again later.
I managed to get it working. I’ll post the solution here so maybe it can be useful for someone else.
Even thou it gave error after the login screen, the google account was actually linked to homey. To make it work I went on the Google Account settings page, in the security tab and then in the links to third party apps and services section.
From there I saw Homey and removed it.
After that I repeated the sync process from Google Home to Homey and everything worked fine.
I’m having this issue but this solution did not work for me. In my case, Homey and Google Home were previously connected. In troubleshooting some intermittent control issues, I disconnected them within the Google Home app with the intention of simply reconnecting them in an effort to reset a connection.
Unfortunately I have not been able to reconnect them. All attempts are met with “Could not reach Homey. Please try again”. I can easily add and remove link between My Homey Cloud account and Google Home, but cannot reconnect my Homey Pro. Frustrating as I rely on several Homey flows triggered via the Google Assistant. Creating a new Google Home did not work and I have far too many automations in my current Homey to start a new.
I’ve the exact same issue. When I try to link Homey to Google Home (via Google Home), after logging into Homey and approving the link, I get a “Could not reach Homey. Please try again.” message. This has been happening since a month ago and I cannot fix it till today. I’ve tried removing Homey from Google Home’s connected apps, rebooted Homey, even tried a new Google Home setup, none of it works.
I will admit that I have forgotten this myself for about 3 times now and each time I had to get annoyed and then rediscover this
And I bet that if I need to redo Homey/Google home in the future, I will again not see Homey, get annoyed only to realise that its hidden behind the phone’'s UI
