Tado-x via matter or homey/bridge

I have finally finished putting together my Tado X setup. I learned a lot. I connected all Tado products to the receiver box attached to the boiler. I then generated a pairing code in Tado app on my phone to link to Homey 2026 Pro. This means all the Tado equipment is on the Tado thread network by Homey can see it. I just spent a few hours writing all of the advanced flows to turning the heating on and off. I also found out that because I am in a 3 storey townhouse I have had to purchase a Tado Bridge X just to act as a repeater so the TRV on my top floor can connect to the receiver on the ground floor. But it all works now smoothly.

I did find that with initial pairing I had to do a factory reset on the receiver to get any of the new TRV to connect to it, which wasn’t helpful.

I have deliberately left all of the TRV on the Tado side of things to take advantage of some of the features the Tado app can do. However, I am not paying for any subscriptions to do with Tado. All schedules are handled by Homey, and I have noticed this morning that has also included firmware updates for some of the TRV.

What firmware did it push out?

Im paying the Tado subscription but dont want to. Id rather homey do it all. However does that mean a flow for each timeframe you want?

Is there a decent “heating schedule app” available at all thats a case of editing boxes with times?

I like the schedule grid view that tado shows, any way of getting that in homey?

The TRV are now on 308.3 for me. I am just awaiting the last one to update. All of my schedule was advanced flows I created as I cannot get any learning thermostat either paid or not to allow for a two week schedule.

In the end I went with presence detection but in reverse. My wife works from home on random days so I told Homey just to check for her presence, if there keep certain rooms warm and let others cool. If my wife isn’t home at 09:00 change the temperature to a fall back temperature.

Here is a snapshot of some of the heating logic for one of the rooms.
