Support for controlling mini-split AC/heat units

Hello,

Loving my Homey pro, just one big gap–controlling my 5 Fujitsu mini-splits. I’d like to add their control to some flows to help manage room temps throughout the day. Currently, I do this through setting “hard” schedules in their control app (Cielo).

Requirements:

  • IR controller that includes Fujitsu mini-split codes (which are common).
  • MUST HAVE A DISPLAY. I want to see what temperature they are set at and their current operating mode (e.g., Heat) so PLEASE DO NOT RECOMMEND HOMEY IR Or Sensibo. They do not have a display and fail the requirements.
  • Goal: Incorporate mini-control and separate temp monitors (Third Reality, already installed and working with Homey) into flows that better react to changes (e.g., increase units fan speed if room temps drop below threshold, or turn on the ceiling fans in a bedroom when its mini-split is turned on.)

Currently control them Cielo Breez Max controllers.

  • Cielo is not Homey compatible.
  • Yes they appear in the Smartthings community app but there is a known issue and that app stops working every 24 hours.
  • Alex sees Cielo but no way for Homey to control them via Alexa.
  • Cielo is very poor at monitoring room temperature and adjusting the AC appropriately so open to replacing them.

I tried Sensibo which Homey can see but no digital display so fails baseline reqs.

Ordered a couple Tuya compatible thermostat controllers with a display that worked quite well with the units and my phone’s Tuya app but the Homey Tuya app doesn’t see them in a way that provides any functionality.

In fact, I’ve been searching and downloading several Homey apps and NONE have either a mini-split, heat pump, or IR thermostat device in their compatibility lists.

Open to any helpful thoughts, ideas or workarounds! Thx!

Might be possible to build an app for them, which mobile app do they use?

Thanks for responding Sven! Gosh, I have no idea what’s involved in building an app.

Cielo uses it’s own proprietary app (https://cielowigle.com/). I was hopeful because Cielo is smartthings compatible but Samsung changed tokens to expire every 24 hours so that seems like a dead end.

I would think a Cielo app would be useful to the Homey community. It’s a popular control device in my area.

Any more information I can provide?

I just checked the app but it uses protocols that I can’t reverse engineer, so I can’t help with this. However, you can request an app here:
